Fay sensed the presence of Death around her. In the curtains, in the book placed on the nightstand next to the bed. Even in the sunlight streaming through the window across the bed. Death lurked everywhere.
Although she had experienced Death before, including three of her own near-death experiences, Navy Judge Advocate Commander Faydra Green had not gotten used to his genius. Then again, Death was not a person. Although he was, without a doubt, a man. His costume was complete with a giant sling blade and a black hooded cape shrouding his white, pasty face.
Those closest to her seemed to die. Her mother had died twenty-eight years before in an automobile accident. An accident had left her half-sister, JP Fletcher, injured and near death. Her father, former United States President William Green, had died a little over two years ago. And she had killed a man. Oh yes, Fay knew Death quite well.

My thoughts on Deception Pass
Deception Pass is book three in the Spider Green military mystery thriller series by Norm Harris. You can read it as a standalone, but I think you will have a much richer experience reading the books in order. There is a lot to Fay’s backstory that I feel adds significantly to this tale.
In this adventure, Faydra is challenged like never before. An old nemesis returns to exact revenge on Fay and doesn’t care who gets hurt along the way. Eventually, this plot ties in with military murders, secrets, the Russian mafia, and a touch of Philadelphia Experiment time-travel thrown in for good measure. It’s a wild ride!
The story is richly told in descriptive language with many added twists to hold the readers’ interest. If you love a tightly woven, gripping military mystery with a bit of sci-fi, this is the book for you!

About Norm Harris

Hi xjane! So far there are four books. Book five Rain and Wind and Fire, the names of the three women in the story. Witches? Five is in a work in progress. There may be no end to the series.
