Her appearance seems weak and frail, but she's nobody's granny-not by a long shot! Psychotic and delusional from lack of taking her much-needed medication, she finally gives closure to that town's past with their missing children.
Being a victim of rape as a young girl, living in a very abusive family home, and learning of her pregnancy were things that she could never make peace with and put behind her. Living as a hermit with her son and never seeing the light of day, she slowly slips into insanity.
Those three boys never saw her coming. Who would ever suspect that this sweet old lady was a serial killer? Strong as an ox and limber as a cat, she has plenty of tricks up her sleeve. Enticing the kids inside with all her candy and spiked homemade cupcakes was easy.
Out of these three boys, only one makes it out alive to tell the tale.

My thoughts on Old Bag of Tricks
I rarely review horror or graphic novels but like to keep a diverse list of reviewed books on my website. When I signed up for this tour, I didn’t realize quite how dark the book would be.
Since this obviously isn’t really the genre for me, my review is going to be based on storyline, grammar, and overall presentation.
- The artwork is well done.
- The storyline has some gaps, but you can understand and follow the premise of the tale.
- The pictures are graphic, hence the name of the genre.
- There are a few grammatical errors and misspelled words.
- For a book set on Halloween, it’s perfect for fans of graphic novels: scary, chilling, creepy, violent, bloody, disturbing, and there are probably some lessons to be learned from reading it.
- I recommend ages 17+
I received a copy of the book for the tour. This review is my honest, unbiased opinion.

Humm…I don’t really have any comfort food. I just mostly have a coffee or tea if it’s really cold outside.
Ok, that hammer breaking the chain in the graphic novel is excellently drawn! It really gives the feeling of motion, and the chain looks so realistic! I am so impressed!
I happy that you like the scene. Sometimes it’s hard to create on paper what you actually see in your mind. I actually have to draw it and erase and do it again until I feel comfortable with the picture.
