Niall Warde had been a carefree soul trapped in the rigid, ordered life of a wizard apprentice when he discovered the girl of his dreams was a fairy. He would never know if their forbidden love could survive because she disappeared without a trace. Unable to find her, Niall blamed his father for Amelie’s disappearance and left home without looking back.
Amelie Ricard knew she had to protect the baby she and Niall created. The fairies don't want peace and her mother, their leader, would stop at nothing to prevent armistice, including killing her own grandchild. So, she must leave her son Kurtis with his father to be raised as a wizard. She left the infant on the steps of his father’s cottage then disappeared, also leaving behind the only man she’s ever loved.
Thirty years later, Niall is called home for his father’s funeral where he reunites with Amelie. When Kurtis’ life is put into danger, Niall and Amelie must face the demons of the past to protect him.
Neither can bring back the past, but can they have a future together? Will their son unite their people in peace?

Excerpt from A Magical’s Gift
“It’s an era for change, but my father is old-fashioned.”
“Sounds like my mother.”
“At least she gave you a practical gift.”
Amelie wrinkled her brow. “How so?”
“The stories?”
“Ah, yes. The fairy tales.”
“Tell me a story.”
She looked up at him with a searching look. Was he serious? He gave her a reassuring smile. “Once upon a time…”
He watched, giving her rapt attention as she told him a classic about a fairy princess and a mortal prince. His intensity unnerved her, so thankfully she knew this tale well enough she could spin it in her sleep.
“I never pegged you for a romantic.”
“All the best stories begin with ‘once upon a time’ and end ‘happily ever after’ you know.” She lowered her gaze. Exposing her true self left her feeling vulnerable.
He nudged her chin up with the lightest touch of his fingertips. “And do you believe we live happily ever after?”
His question caught her by surprise, and, before she could respond, he closed the distance between them, placing a light kiss on her lips. She turned into his arms, pressing her hands against the hard planes of his chest. Her pulse raced as he deepened the kiss. God, it was like free-falling. But it wasn’t scary. It was liberating. Freeing. His kiss opened something inside her, like a door to a hidden portal that she wanted to explore further.

My thoughts on A Magical’s Gift
A Magical’s Gift by Maya Tyler is the fifth and final book in The Magical’s series. The story takes us back to the beginning of the series with Niall and Amalie’s tale of unrequited love, danger, and sacrifice.
This book may be the finale of the series, but it works wonderfully well as a stand-alone story. If this is your first exposure to the series, I bet you will be anxious to read the earlier adventures of this paranormal romance set.
The concept of wizards and fairies maintaining a feud throughout the ages while co-existing in the “real” world is fascinating. The characters are engaging and well-developed. The author unveils several secrets and drops in characters from previous stories to help maintain the interest.
I recommend A Magical’s Gift to all lovers of Paranormal Romance & Mystery.

This sounds like an amazing book!
Thanks so much!
Thanks for stopping by today, Drea!
What’s your favorite genre of music?
Definitely rock. I love listening to music (Spotify is on all the time) and going to concerts. Our first post-pandemic show was Imagine Dragons in August… and it was amazing!
Imagine Dragons is a pretty amazing band. I’ve been a fan for a while and now even the youngest grandkids love them.
I love Imagine Dragons. There were a lot of kids at the concert, but ironically my boys (ages 12 and 14) who love the band didn’t want to go. lol They were perfectly happy ordering takeout and hanging out at home.
Sounds like a good book.

Do you prefer coffee or tea?
Thanks for commenting!
I love both, but I definitely drink more coffee. I was 100% coffee until my niece introduced me to loose leaf tea from DavidsTea. Now, I have a collection of loose leaf tea blends which I enjoy on occasion. My morning coffee gets me through the morning, and my afternoon coffee—you guessed it—gets me through the afternoon. 🙂
I enjoyed reading the excerpt and A Magical’s Gift sounds like a book that I want to read and I like the cover! Thanks for sharing it with me!
Thanks, Gina, for sharing your thoughts!
Have a splendid day!

Thanks for hosting!
Gina, thank you for sharing your thoughts on A Magical’s Gift, this sounds like a must read book and series for me and I am really looking forward to it.
Maya, now that this series is complete, if given a chance would you like to see it turned into a movie or TV mini-series and if so, who is in your dream cast?
That is an amazing question… Let me give it some thought… 🙂
Thanks for your question, Bea. I would love to see my characters come to life on either the small screen or silver screen.
For A Vampire’s Tale, I could picture Minka Kelly and Adam Rodriguez for Marisa and Corgan. For A Wizard’s Choice, I would pick Amy Adams and Chris Hemsworth for Dee and Kurtis. For A Fairy’s Quest, I see Julia Garner and Ian Somerhalder for Alina and Rylan. For A Fairy Godmother’s Redemption, I think Jordyn Jones and Zac Efron for Sera and Drew. For A Magical’s Gift, I see Lily-Rose Depp and Alex Pettyfer for Amelie and Niall. I like to picture my characters and save my inspirations in my book “Research” folder, and I share those inspirations with the cover designer so they can see my vision. Creating characters is such a special job, and I’m so glad you asked this question.
Do you assign Hollywood actors and actresses to the main characters as you’re reading?
I never do, Maya. I am not one for watching movies or television, but when I read a beautiful movie plays in my head. I do love descriptions of the characters so I get a picture of them for “my movie”. Lol. That’s probably why I couldn’t get into the shows for Outlander & Game of Thrones…the actors did not match the characters in my mind. I’m a book person all the way!
I have trouble watching a screen adaptation after I’ve read the book. You’re absolutely right… it never matches my imagination.
