Welcome to the August 5, 2018 newsletter information page. You will find pictures, links and more highlights from the August 5, 2018 newsletter.
It was suggested to me by a reader that my newsletter was too long and perhaps had too many links in it. I am trying a slightly abbreviated edition this week with 3 in each category instead of the normal 5 links. Please HIT REPLY and let me know what you think. I would sure appreciate if you take a few seconds to reply: MORE or LESS. If you have any other suggestions, I am always open for ideas of what you want in your newsletter. I will gladly adjust it to what the majority likes. You may also comment on this post or use the contact link to vote.
We had grandson Liam out for his birthday visit. He had a great time but not nearly as much as we did!
Miss Nora May’s first birthday party! What a blessing to have such a sweet baby after all the years of heartache the family went through to conceive & carry a baby to term. We all celebrated this miracle with them.

This week I am reading:
-
- an ARC of Sandover Beach Week by Emma St. Clair. The next in her Sandover Beach series. This book belongs to Jimmy & Emily. Everyone loved them in Sandover Beach Memories, now they get their own story. This book will be available soon for pre-order.
- Strength: Curse of the Gods, Book 4 by Jane Washington & Jaymin Eve “Willa Knight: Dead? Alive? Damned to a state of eternal bad luck? Willa and the Abcurse brothers are back, and more determined than ever to stick by each other.” I get such a kick out of Willa. We all have those days when we are so clumsy & feel like we have the worst luck. Poor Willa lives an entire life of that!
- Holding Onto Someday by K. Leah Clara had it all planned out… graduate from college, get married, find her dream job and start a family of her own. When she met Drew during her senior year of college, she was certain he was the Prince Charming she had been waiting for, the one to complete her fairytale life. Turns out life had different plans.

What to Eat
- Pico de gallo. We are still using up garden tomatoes. I made a couple quarts of Pico using my recipe. It is so easy to make & I love seasoning it to suit my own tastes. As soon as I write up the recipe, it will be available on the blog. Check back later this week.
- Tinto de Verano is a cold, wine-based drink similar to sangria but simpler to make.
- Pork Medallions with Balsamic Honey Glaze. This is on my recipe list to try soon list.

What to Make
- Irish Knit & Crochet patterns have their own unique style. Check out these lovely patterns of varying degree of difficulty. Pattern for this cute ear warmer can be found here.
- Free Embroidery Patterns with “Positive Sayings”! DMC offers a free download of a large collection of patterns every Sunday. A favorite of mine:
- Cool DIY ideas for men & women. Wooden tool carries to Bacon Candles! Beer carriers to chairs to sit in while drinking said beer. This website has it all.
I hope you try a few of this week’s recommendations. I haven’t read, tried, or made them all but when I do, you can find my reviews here on the blog.
And once again, please hit reply on the newsletter, message me on FB, or contact me here on the website to let me know if you like MORE info & links in your newsletter or LESS. This week I listed 3 in each category as opposed to the normal 5.
Have a wonderful week!
