Justine Bell, dedicated history professor at the University of Vegas and a skeptic to the bone, is hired by Logan to dress the set with Egyptian antiquities. She dislikes the infamous playboy on principle alone, but with the dean insisting she takes the job, she has no choice.
When one of the ancient relics in the shipment turns out to be a legendary artifact, Justine throws herself into researching it... and finds it' s of vital importance to the whole of mankind— it reveals that supernatural creatures have always walked the Earth!
Now, with the clock ticking down on them, the pair must work as a team. Justine has to find the strength to abandon the safety of the beliefs she clings to, ones that don' t allow her to embrace true love, and Logan must fight to become the man Justine needs him to be.
If they can do that, a whole new world awaits them...

Excerpt from Blood of Fire
Justine:
“I’ll be back,” I promised and took off at a half-run for the ladies’ room. I’d used the one in the hallway earlier instead of the one inside the venue to escape the taxing situation for a few extra minutes, but now I was regretting it. At least in the one in Dreamland I stood a better chance of someone handing it in to lost and found or remembering that they’d seen me wearing them at the ceremony.
I raced through the open doorway, holding my skirts up to avoid tripping and rounded the corner. Just a few more feet—
“Where’s the fire?” a deep voice asked to my right.
Without looking back, I yelled over my shoulder as I pushed open the bathroom door with both hands, not wanting anyone to think there was an actual fire. “Nothing’s burning. I just lost something.”
I searched frantically—on the floor, in the sinks then in the stalls. Nothing. I tore open the garbage disposal and began throwing out the damp paper willy-nilly. Again, nothing. I tied up my mess, washed my hands and stood there, thinking. Maybe it had fallen off in the church? I needed to make a call and find out, but I had no damn phone, thanks to Jane.
I took a moment to compose myself, not liking the hot mess I had become in the past few minutes. I dampened a paper towel with cold water and pressed it to the back of my neck. It helped, just like when I got a migraine. I felt better when I exited the room a few minutes later.
“Ah, the lady who lost something.”
I stopped, recognizing the deep voice, annoyed that he was still hanging around. Then I had a better thought—maybe I could borrow his phone? I made a sharp turn—
Oh. That man, the one from the hallway earlier in the evening. My pulse spiked. He stood before me in all his glory. My mind went blank as I drank in his assets. He had all the bases covered. Handsome. Impeccably dressed. An amazing physique. Thick light-brown hair tied back and shining with golden streaks that gleamed in the soft light. But the best part was his emerald-green eyes surrounded by thick dark eyelashes.
Wait! Emerald—I was looking for my earring, not a man.

My thoughts on Blood of Fire
“Blood of Fire,” the third installment in the Sin City Kilts series by January Bain, is a scintillating paranormal romance that will set your heart racing and keep you glued to the pages until the very end. Combining excitement, adventure, and passionate romance, this novel delivers a captivating tale that will leave readers enchanted.
In this thrilling story, we meet Logan Creig, a carefree and charismatic billionaire wolf shifter from Scotland. Known as the bad boy of his clan, Logan arrives in Vegas with the intention of making a heist movie. He’s a man who loves women and doesn’t apologize for his free-spirited nature. On the other hand, we have Justine Bell, a dedicated history professor at the University of Vegas, who is a skeptic through and through. When Logan hires Justine to dress the set with Egyptian antiquities for his movie, their worlds collide in the most unexpected ways.
The chemistry between Justine and Logan is palpable from the start, and their witty banter adds a delightful layer of entertainment to the story. Despite their initial dislike for each other, circumstances force them to work together when an ancient relic from the shipment turns out to be a legendary artifact. This artifact reveals the existence of supernatural creatures throughout history, setting the stage for an epic and urgent quest.
As the clock ticks down, the pair must overcome their differences and work as a team to unlock the secrets of the artifact. Justine, burdened by her staunch skepticism and reluctance to embrace true love, must find the courage to let go of her inhibitions. Meanwhile, Logan must prove that he can be the man Justine needs him to be. In this race against time, they discover that the future of humanity is at stake, and a whole new world awaits them if they can rise to the challenge.
January Bain skillfully weaves a captivating narrative filled with intrigue, magic, and passion. Her ability to create a vibrant and immersive paranormal world is commendable, drawing readers into a realm where supernatural beings and humans coexist. The book keeps readers on edge, eager to unravel the mysteries and secrets hidden within its pages.
One of the strengths of “Blood of Fire” is the undeniable chemistry between Justine and Logan. Their relationship is beautifully portrayed, with a gradual development that allows readers to become invested in their journey. As they navigate their differences and fears, their love story becomes all the more compelling.
Overall, “Blood of Fire” is a page-turner that offers a delightful blend of paranormal elements, adventure, and romance. January Bain’s expertise in the genre shines through, making it a thrilling addition to her collection of paranormal romances. This book is a must-read for fans of the Sin City Kilts series and those seeking a tale of love, magic, and self-discovery.
