My thoughts on Danny Mann Super Fan by Ian Slatter
Danny Mann Super Fan is a delightful football/soccer story sure to appeal to young readers and football fans.
Every true fan has a “good luck” ritual, whether they admit it or not. Danny and his friend Nelson develop an intricate pregame routine to save Danny’s hometown team from being sent down to a lower-level league.
Hilarity ensues as they strive to repeat the crazy ritual before each game. The school’s Premier League fans try to bully Danny, but with some great advice from the principal, Danny learns to keep his cool.
Family and friendship play essential roles throughout the book as we see multiple generations reminisce about their favorite football memories.
I recommend this book to all football fans as well as readers from about age eight and up. I’m not personally a soccer enthusiast, but I had no trouble enjoying this well-written tale.
I received a copy of the book for the tour. This review is my honest, unbiased opinion.
