Death Bringer is the second book in The Chronicles of Nova Morgan trilogy.

Nova may have won the fight for her freedom, but she’s far from won the war. Journey beside her, Ruth and Chaplin as they leave the gritty streets of Victorian London behind and immerse themselves in the magical living realm of Hindra.

In a world where death isn’t forever and living isn’t easy, they’re about to unearth all manner of secrets and lies. Their mission seems clear, infiltrate the Council Chambers and free the captive, Detective Maximus Steele, bringing down The Righteous Ones as they go, but time is moving fast and as Nova comes to realise, time is running out.

From streetworker to rebellion leader, is her path one of greatness, or has it simply been paved by someone or something, far greater than her? Like pieces on a chessboard, is Nova just a pawn in someone else’s game.

Death Bringer, book two of The Chronicles of Nova Morgan is fantastic. The story continues to build, introducing new characters, and breaking your heart with the loss of others. I am giving this book a 5 of 5 stars rating. Please read further for my reasoning.

The Good: The main characters continue to show growth and maturity. Even though some are hundreds of years old, they had room to grow. It’s time to put aside pettiness and work together. New realms appear, as well as past connections and storylines filled in. We learn more about our main characters and their motivations. I especially enjoyed the growth of the relationship between Ruth and Nova. Without giving away any spoilers, I have to say the twists in Death Bringer kept drawing me further into the story.

The not-so-good: There is very little I can fault in this story. There were only a couple of misspelled words, and the pace faltered in a few spots.

Overall, I highly recommend Death Bringer, The Chronicles of Nova Morgan, Book 2. That said, you must read this series in order. I can not imagine jumping into the story midway through the trilogy. You need the backstory for it to make any sense to you. The author brought her best to Death Bringer, and I can’t wait to read the final book of the trilogy.
