Welcome to the December 6, 2019 – Friday Finds. Yikes! How can it be December already? I’m packing today to head back home from my get-away at the beach. The sand and water are my “happy place.” But for now, I’m going back to the cooler midwest weather and hoping it spurs me to get all the holiday things wrapped up. Pun intended!
I hope you enjoy this week’s picks. Searching for holiday recipes on Pinterest is sure fun, but I lose a lot of time doing it.

Books on my Radar
Destructive Salvation by Jay Deans
What if cancer was the cure?
In 2032, revolutionary advancements in genetics and microtechnology have blessed humanity with a non-destructive, universal cure for cancer. But after witnessing the death of the cure’s creator, Detective Thaddeus Rainer embarks on a perilous investigation to discover why his former best friend was being targeted. Rummaging deeper through the skeletons of his friend’s biotech company, Thaddeus soon realizes that curing cancer was just the beginning. But if harnessing this cured disease renders organ donation obsolete at the risk of creating murderous, regenerating super-soldiers, what other miracles – and horrors – lay within the rest of its untapped potential?
And how far would someone go to unleash them?
Illusion of Worlds by Daniel Pietrzak
‘In My World’ is a stirring fiction book that takes the readers on a breathtaking journey of discovering a secret world of infinite possibilities and the fascinating reality of life that is available to each one of them, despite the everyday challenges. Travel with Deon as he uncovers the unbelievable secrets of our daily lives that we take for granted. Delve into these exciting pages, and you will be charmed and swept away by the majesty of innocence, imagination, curiosity, and possibilities.
Have you ever wondered if all fairies live in peace? ‘The Rubies’ beautifully leads the reader down an enchanted pathway of war, betrayal, friendship, love, and loyalty. Follow Princess Amira’s journey as she tries to bind together a nation divided by hate and fear, and build a new, stronger society from the scattered ashes of her family’s Kingdom. Friendships will be put to the test, and our heroes and heroines will have to learn to deal with grief, loss, and sorrow while putting the needs of others first.
Golden Monkey by Lance Pototschnik
In this gaspingly funny collection of stories, Lance’s battle with disease, his overbearing parents, and his maniacal bosses push him toward the startling discovery that the daily grind–which scrapes the gold off even the best of us–is the very thing that reveals what we are truly made of. This book is for every intellectual slacker whose very soul is straining against the chains of a dead-end job, a disease, or bad culture. Golden Monkey is a hysterical and bittersweet look at the dark moments that define us, and the triumphant aftermath when we get to say, with all our hearts, that we know exactly who the hell we are.
Renaldo: The Reindeer Flying Academy Book 1 by Maxine Sylvester
Ronaldo is the top flying cadet at the prestigious Reindeer Flying Academy. He dreams of getting his flying license and becoming one of Santa’s reindeer, just like his hero, Vixen.
In the first adventure in the Ronaldo series, the second year flying cadets face their toughest ever flying test – The Endurance Challenge. Will Ronaldo be victorious and lift the silver cup? Or will mean brothers Dasher, Comet, and Prancer ruin his chance for success?

This is such an eclectic mix of ideas! I think I’m seconding a few people here when I say I can’t believe I’ve not seen your posts before!
Thank you Anthea. I’m glad you liked it.
Super intrigued by the thought that cancer is the cure! On a lighter note going to try the cranberry pie!
Me too. I can’t wait to read the book and I’ll be trying both those pies over the holidays.
