My thoughts on Dinos Love Donuts

This lovely little book came up on my recommended reads for children’s books. I’m glad I gave it a try.

“Dinos Love Donuts” by Ben Okon is a delightful children’s book about a group of dinosaurs who discover their love for donuts and dancing. The dinosaurs embark on a fun and whimsical adventure while dancing around the area, some even with donuts hung on their horns.

When suddenly, the object of their greatest fear appears: a giant rock rolling down the hill toward them. As it crashes to the ground, the dinos are covered in…jelly? It wasn’t a rock but a giant jelly-filled donut! How silly they felt when they realized there was nothing at all to be frightened of.

The book is filled with colorful illustrations by Komal Sharma and the author’s playful rhymes, making it an engaging read for young children. It’s a story that celebrates friendship, creativity, and the joy of discovering new things while overcoming the fear of the unknown.

About Ben Okon

A different kind of author for a different kind of children's book.

Ben Okon is a children's book author who never outgrew his childhood habit of asking “why?” and “how?” Now that he's a father of two and has to be the one giving the answers, he loves challenging himself to think through the things he wishes he had known earlier in life from the perspective of a child.

But he's not just an author, and he brings a unique analytical method to the design of his children's books. In his other life, Ben is a business leader who has developed people, product, and corporate strategies with companies like Google, Bain & Co., and Starwood Hotels. He crafts and tests each of his books using the same rigor that he employs when making decisions for some of the world's most influential leaders.

He is a regular contributor to schools and educational nonprofits, and holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a BS from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University.
