Dreams Inc. by T. E. Mark | Review
Dreams Inc. by T.E. Mark is a masterpiece of science fiction novelettes. The author creates a rich canvas of futuristic worlds so vivid you are instantly transported deep into the lives of the characters. Whether the story is about children with exceptional abilities, an oppressive government, or world domination by artificial intelligence, you can see correlations to our current life situations.
Whether you want to lose yourself in an evening of deep thinking or be entertained for a few hours, this thought-provoking novel will serve you well. The imagination of Mr. Mark is extraordinary. His characters are believable and carry the story forward in a realistic way. This aspect is important to me in a futuristic science fiction story.
I recommended Dreams, Inc. to readers ages 15 and up. It should appeal to everyone, not just science fiction lovers. The stories are similar in theme but vastly different from one another. Each novelette is entertaining, thought-provoking, and keeps you turning the page. I could not put it down.

Author Interview: T. E. Mark
How long have you been writing?
I’ve been writing most of my life. Short stories when I was younger, eight or so, then my first full-length novel “Fractured Horizons,” when I was twelve. I’ve also taken lengthy breaks along the way. Twenty years might be the right answer. Maybe a little less.
What inspired you to write in this genre?
I’ve always loved reading pure science and science fiction. And I was a fanciful storyteller from the very beginning. There really was no decision about genre when I started writing.
Do you need silence to write, or can you work in any environment?
Great question. It depends. Sometimes, when I’m really focused, I can write anywhere. At other times, almost anything can be a distraction. Then I’m up looking for that quiet corner where I can see, hear, imagine, and create.
If you could set up your perfect writing scenario, what would it involve?
A contract from a good publisher or film producer willing to grant me the use of a nice beach house on the Mediterranean (A Greek island would work) for at least a year. Then we could work out the details for the sequels.
Were you an avid reader growing up?
Mostly, though there were periods when I barely read at all. School, jobs, marriage, children. Life, at times, seems almost determined to keep us away from books. It’s a battle we can win, but one we must be vigilant about and committed to.
If you could form the ultimate writers’ group, which authors, past or present, would you invite to join you?
Isaac Asimov, Kurt Vonnegut, Ray Bradbury, Shakespeare, Philip K Dick, Douglas Adams, Arthur C Clarke, Voltaire, H. G. Wells, George Orwell, Cicero, and J. K. Rowling. Maybe Virgil, Dante, and about 200 others.
Do you snack while writing, and if so, what is your go-to snack?
I’m a strict vegetarian who blends the coolest, healthiest, one day to become legendary fruit and vegetable drinks. I have a green concoction that is unbelievable. If I need a snack fix while writing, that’s where my mind goes. And not ironically… I tend to follow it.
Must you wear shoes to write?
I’ll need to get back to you on this one. Some questions, those typically related to one’s philosophy, politics, or apparel requirements, require research in order to respond accurately. Yep. This is definitely one of those questions.
Is there anything you would like my readers to know about you and your book?
Yes. In NET 2.3, The Novelettes of TE Mark – Vol III, and in its predecessors, The Far-Sighted (Vol I) and DREAMS INC. (Vol II), I’ve essentially created a new story design by crossbreeding the novella with the screenplay. The result being stories that are, hopefully, faster reads and more engaging. A kind of cinematic experience in book form. (That’s my goal anyway)
They move through scenes, not chapters, are typically 2-3 hour reads, and I’ve even written the narrative sections, in some stories, in present tense. This places you, the reader, in the action now rather than telling you the story as if it happened in the past.
I think they’re neat. Maybe a little quirky, but… thus far, the results have been pretty good. I’ve received some positive comments, especially about the pace.
