Friday Finds | 01-31-2025 | Fun Time

I plan to stick with fun questions instead of trivia-type ones. I’m not great at creating questions that aren’t easy to look up on Google, so let’s keep them fun and entertaining while we get to know each other better.

What is your favorite or earliest “creative/crafting” memory?

My earliest memory of making things on my own is of weaving pot holders on a metal loom. I remember sharing them with all the neighbors, probably whether they wanted one or not.

One of my favorite crafting memories is seeing my daughters get married in the wedding shawls I made for them.

Share your answer in the comment section to be included in the next fun-time drawing!

I’m drawing for January’s winner since today is the last day of the month. All entries received from today until February 27th will be entered in the next drawing.

The winner of the January Fun-Time Contest is … Gary K. I’ve emailed him about his prize.

Speaking of prizes, here’s the updated list of prizes being offered.

  • A featured block on the website sidebar
  • A BookShop or Etsy gift card
  • A donation to the charity of your choice

Do you have any suggestions for questions, prizes, topics, or features?

Kathleen Kaska is finishing up her latest Sydney Lockhart mystery. Can you guess the name of her new book? Here are the clues she is offering.

“I plan to finish a new mystery set in my hometown. The story is lighthearted and humorous, and whatever can go wrong does. The title is probably obvious to those of you who are familiar with West, Texas.”

If I missed the author news you sent, remind me! I sometimes receive hundreds of emails daily, and things get lost or buried. I am never offended if you check up on what you’ve sent me, whether it’s announcements or requests.

  1. My favorite crafting memories are just when my mom used to teach me how to sew and make things. I remember her teaching me how make pom poms with a circle and a ball of yarn and now to make a long chain of yarn with a spool with 4 nails on top and then I made that into coasters.

  2. Eve Gaal

Trouble in El Paso? Anyway, so many things to love! That purse craft looks fun, and I must check out that apple pie.
