Friday Finds | 03-28-2025 | Welcome
Hello, friends!
Can you believe we’re wrapping up March already? Spring is officially here, and with it comes all the fun of longer days, fresh blooms, and, of course, this week’s Friday Finds! I’ve got a great lineup of book reviews, spotlights, recipes, and creative finds for you to explore.
This week’s Fun Time question is all about food on a stick—because let’s be honest, everything tastes better when it’s skewered! And if you’re more of a sticks for crafting kind of person, I’ve found some lovely knitting needles, crochet hooks, and weaving tools on sale.
So, grab a cup of coffee (or a caramel apple skewer!), settle in, and enjoy the latest finds. Don’t forget to share your thoughts in the comments—I love hearing from you!
On to the good stuff!
Gina
Peace & Love,
Gina

Friday Finds | 03-28-2025 | Fun Time
I plan to stick with fun questions instead of trivia-type ones. I’m not great at creating questions that aren’t easy to look up on Google, so let’s keep them fun while we get to know each other better.
Today is National Something On a Stick Day
The use of sticks—skewers of wood—in the preparation and consumption of food items goes back a long way—a very long way. An archeological site in Germany contained a stick with a burnt tip, indicating its use in the cooking of meat over a fire 300,000 years ago, during the Lower Paleolithic era. Homer’s “Iliad” from ancient Greece mentions cooking meat on skewers, too.
There’s no getting around it, food on a stick is fun. So, what’s your favorite food on a stick?
Share your answer in the comment section to be included in the next fun-time drawing!
Since I won’t be back home (where my Fun Time Jar is on the desk), I’ll announce the latest winner next week.

I found this post to be very informative and well-organized. Your detailed analysis and clear explanations make it a pleasure to read. The practical examples you included were particularly helpful. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
I had no idea that was a “National Something On a Stick Day” that’s so cool. I think my favourite would be Korean Corndogs, they’re so good.
Chocolate pie? Banana cream? Cherry? Pie is awesome, and yes, pizza is the best savory option. Best food on a stick? Fudgsicles!!
Ooh. I haven’t had a fudgsicle in ages. Those and Dreamsicles are sooo good.
I read all the way to the end and clicked the last link which took me to last week’s Friday Finds so I was a little confused but I found this week’s! I haven’t eaten food on a stick in many years. My dad used to grill meat, carrots, and potatoes on sticks for us but I haven’t had any in a long time.
Oh no. It sounds like I forgot to swap the link. I’m visiting the littles this week for Spring Break. I have lots of help when I try to do anything, which is great, but I lose my concentration so easily. Hopefully, next week will be better! Or at least quieter!
