Do you love Jazz? How about historical fiction? Combine them both with this great story from Mim Eichmann!
Muskrat Ramble by Mim Eichmann
Seamlessly threaded into the emerging hot jazz music scene that captured the hearts of music lovers in 1913 New Orleans, are the themes of the deadly tightening Jim Crow era, World War I, and its aftermath of economic ills, political upheavals, and epidemics, and the choices, heartbreaks, and ultimate decisions of women of all races. At its heart, however, MUSKRAT RAMBLE is the saga of a young woman's unwavering devotion to the biracial child she was forced to abandon at birth.
🍴 Foodie Fun - 12 September 2025
I saw this earlier in the week and saved it to make for the family. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks so delicious, I wanted to share it with you. It seems even easier than the beer can chicken that was the rage a few years ago.
🧶Craft Corner – A Tale of Two Blankets
This is a fabulous, heartfelt story from Texas Gabi. I enjoyed reading it and hope you will too.
The Story - Read how the hexagon pin loom came into being.
The Shop - The magazine and all the supplies are available here.

Umm..1 paintbrush..unless I am totally missing some..lol
Thank you so much for including The Plain Little Unicorn this week! It was perfect timing because the Bloomsburg Fair starts today! The building that I will be in doesn't open until tomorrow though. The bad thing is that my author copies for the book didn't ship yet, so I only have 5 books that I paid full price for to sell tomorrow at the fair. Hopefully the other copies will come soon!
I see one paintbrush in the picture.
Have a happy week!
Your welcome! Good luck at fair. Did Janelle like her mini feature?
Gina ~ thanks so much for mentioning Muskrat Ramble this morning! You made my day! Definitely had more fun prowling about New Orleans, particularly along Frenchmen Street, listening to fabulous early jazz music at The Spotted Cat, DBA, and Maison.
It’s a book that leaves an impression, for sure!
1 paintbrush in image for giveaway
