Friday Finds | 2-12-21 | Weekly Roundup
Welcome to the roundup. I’ve so much to share with you this week.
Eve Gaal’s, The Happy War, won the featured spot in my BookShop from the newsletter subscriber contest. Don’t be afraid to enter if you aren’t an author. Everyone is welcome. I can find a prize to suit any winner; a gift card to Amazon or BookShop, a guest spot on my website for your blog, there are infinite ways to reward you for being a loyal reader.
In other news, I’m still waiting, rather impatiently, for my age group to come up for a Covid Vaccine in Illinois. Have you received yours yet?
Not a lot going on here on the farm. We are in the deep freeze of temperatures and staying in, keeping warm, and wishing for spring. Seed catalogs can be a lifesaver this time of year.
The Book Blogger Novel of the Year Award is back for 2021. You can find more info about the competition below. I am a panelist/judge again this year and it sounds like it’s growing by leaps and bounds. There will be more prizes and books this year. Please consider signing up as an Indie Author, Small Publisher, or Book Blogger. Everyone is welcome if they fit the guidelines.
Now on to the finds for the week. Please leave a comment and let me know what you like … or don’t like this week.

Keepers Of The Gate (Twilight Ends Book 1)
In 1779 Kanadasaga, Sullivan’s Expedition torches a Seneca village and many others, destroying the Iroquois Confederacy. Awakened from sleep, Pilan and Teka flee their blazing longhouse into the woodlands. After a soldier’s bullet thwarts their escape, Pilan vows to meet his beloved Teka again in another life.
Two hundred years later in present-day Geneva, New York, historical relics rise. Twilight Ends, a grand Victorian bed-and-breakfast run by the Newhouse family, sits on the property the Iroquois village used to thrive on.
After Twilight Ends’ long-standing matriarch Tessa Newhouse dies, her daughter and granddaughter, Skylar and Twyla, discover two artifacts under the maple tree in the backyard, and an ancient mystery as old as time begins to unravel.

The Ballad of Lorianna and other poems by Chris Laverty
These poems are devoid of any artificial and spurious emotion. The employment of concrete imagery in these poems is quite admirable. Instead of rhetorical style, the poet prefers the exact word. After reading these poems, it is evident that the poet’s style is quite lucid. Also available on BookShop, if you want to support local book stores.

Hi Gina! That stew recipe looks great! I might try that since it’s so cold out! I bought the ‘turtle’ colored Kairos Kit for a gift. That looks like fun!
