Gina’s Friday Finds for 7 January 2022: New Year – New Finds!
Welcome to the first Friday Finds of 2022! I’m ready to get organized and kick off a great year. I have lots of ideas but so far haven’t had the time to implement them. But, it’s a start, right? How about you? Is the new year treating you right so far?
Do you like the changes you see in today’s format? Hopefully, it’s cleaner and easier to read. The content is mostly the same except for the more personal news and some of the deals and specials I find will only be included in the newsletter. If you don’t get the Friday Finds email, please sign up today. If you get too much email, I understand and you are always welcome to just follow on the blog. I love to hear from you either way.
Friday Finds Books: 7 January 2022
In honor of the incomparable Betty White, I think this is a great little book to help keep her memory alive for the new generation!
Celebrate your love of the iconic 1980s sitcom with this charming board book that fans will want to share with the youngest readers at bedtime.
Dorothy, Blanche, and Rose are having a sleepover! And, of course, they are having too much fun to go to sleep. As Ma tries to get them to settle down, the girls enjoy some cheesecake in the kitchen, try on their dress-up clothes, sing, and dance, and say goodnight to their friends Stan and Miles. Finally, after taking a bath and putting on their pj’s, they all squeeze into bed and listen to one of Ma’s Sicily stories before they drift off together.
Illustrated with bright and charming art, full of Easter eggs and nods to iconic show gags—from St. Olaf to Shady Pines—Goodnight, Girls will simultaneously delight kids AND adults.
The Comfortable Kitchen: 105 Laid-Back, Healthy, and Wholesome Recipes (A Defined Dish Book)
It’s comfort food—redefined! Here are healthy meals the whole family can enjoy, night after night . . .
What does comfort mean in The Comfortable Kitchen? For Alex Snodgrass, the New York Times bestselling author of The Defined Dish, bringing her family around the table to share a home-cooked meal is a favorite way to show love. Her recipes are designed to bring joy into that display of affection, from your own comfort cooking to your loved ones’ delight at the delicious flavors, to knowing that you’re caring for your family’s nutrition with each bite.
Though many of her meals are fully paleo compliant, or at the very least paleo-ish, there are plenty of other recipes with simple, flexible ingredient swaps for a cleaner meal when desired—perfect for people who are enjoying their “food freedom” stage of their health journey. And for those who have dietary restrictions, Alex clearly marks each recipe as gluten-free, dairy-free, grain-free, and paleo, as appropriate.
If you are looking for an addictive suspenseful mystery series, Kate Gable’s Detective Kaitlyn Carr series is one I’m starting soon.
From Book 1: When her 13-year-old sister vanishes on her way back from a friend’s house, Detective Kaitlyn Carr must confront demons from her own past in order to bring her sister home.
The small mountain town of Big Bear Lake is only three hours away but a world away from her life in Los Angeles. It’s the place she grew up and the place that’s plagued her with lies, death, and secrets.
(The first two books in the series are available at a very special price today.)

Have a great weekend, Gina!
Hi Gina,
That Golden girls book looks so cute! I shared it on my Twitter a few times.
I forgot to tell you about my upcoming book launch event. It’s too late now to include it in your newsletter, but maybe the next event I have I’ll be on time to tell you about it. In any case, if there is any way you could share my event at all that would be awesome! My new eBook Back to Grandmom will be free to download Jan. 10-11. Here is the Facebook event page to help people remember to download the eBook for free! Thanks for all you do! https://www.facebook.com/events/1146078516135274
