Friday Finds for 12 August 2022 | Indie Author Announcements, Books Recommendations from Bloggers, Delish Recipes, & Fall Crafts
Hello, my friends & welcome to the 12 August 2022 Fun!
I hope you enjoy this week’s post and be sure you leave a comment below voting for your favorite find of the week.
Peace & Love
In a bit of housekeeping news, I’ll be doing a fall email list purge soon. If you haven’t been opening and clicking through to the blog post, you “could” be deleted from the list. Please don’t let that happen. I love having you here! (I’ll run this announcement for a few weeks.)
It’s that time of year when I start itching to make changes to the newsletter & the blog. Do you have any suggestions? Things you like? Parts you hate? All feedback is welcome!
Friday Finds | 12 August 2022 | Author News
Do you have a new book releasing soon, a special promotion coming up, or any other news of your author-life I can share with my readers?
In the reported book and author news this week…
All three of these authors are great. I’ve reviewed their books and am a big fan. They are also supportive friends of the blog, always reading, commenting, and sharing.
Eric Suddoth says: “I just released my latest book, Wunderling, if you are interested. It’s a little different, but so far, it’s been getting some good reviews. I have it on Kindle Unlimited as well.”
Mim Eichmann’s Whatever Happened to Cathy Martin was officially released on August 9th. Go read this gothic Midwest thriller set in 1978…today!
Jessica D. Adams, author of the Underground Toy Society series announces that her latest children’s book, Liam Lion Lost at the Bloomsburg Fair, is available in paperback now, with the ebook to follow soon. I have a special post coming this weekend about her release.

Kyrie Wang is the newest Author of the Week. She’ll be hanging out on my sidebar all week. Please give her a warm welcome by reading her bio, visiting her website, and of course, learning more about her books. I recently reviewed Enemy’s Keeper: Forbidden Ties.

Friday Finds | 12 August 2022 | Books
These are a few of the books that caught my eye this week. Have you read them? Would you like to?
The Forgotten Cottage by Courtney Ellis
Connected through time to her great-grandmother by a shared English countryside home, an American nurse tries to piece together her family’s tangled history in this new historical novel from the acclaimed author of At Summer’s End.
I first heard about this book from a fellow book blogger, Carol @ Reading Ladies Book Club. I always trust her opinion when it comes to books, especially ones with clean romance & historical fiction.

A Ladies Guide to Fortune Hunting by Sophie Irwin
“Bridgerton fans will swoon over this entertaining romp through Britain’s Regency-era high society.”
—People
My friend Kimberly @ Roaming the Pages recently reviewed this one & it really grabbed my attention.

Carla’s Adventure in Vietnam by Missy Tarantino
The Traveling Trunk Adventures with Carla are perfect for readers who are just beginning chapter books. In the latest book, Carla is whisked off to Vietnam during their lunar New Year celebration, she experiences a whole new culture and finds out that Tet is becoming her new favorite holiday. What are those lions doing on top of that pole?
I love Carla’s travel adventures. This series is perfect for kids moving beyond picture books and readers of all ages to learn about different countries and their cultures.

Thank you so much, Gina! I cannot wait to see what you thought of Liam’s book! I’ve been preparing for a community day event that will support my local fire company that happens tomorrow. I hope you have a great weekend!
I have just released my latest mystery novel, Yellow Jacket. It is available in paperback or e-book.
Gina – thanks so much for the shout out! In the art imitates life department, I’ve now received several comments through various social media sites from folks who’ve lost touch with a friend named Cathy Martin from back in high school, lol …
Peace and love, right back at ya, Gina! Thank you for all these fabulous finds!
Forgotten Cottage sounds great. Love the cover too. I’m a sucker for dual narratives.
Thanks for the shout out Gina! 🙌
