Friday Finds for 17 December 2021

Hello and welcome to the Friday Finds for 17 December 2021  edition. We are only one week out from Christmas! Is your holiday shopping done? Unfortunately, mine is not. But, today I’m starting a big push of cleaning, shopping, and cooking. I always work better with a deadline…at least that’s what I’m telling myself. So this week I have a round-up of blog posts, books, gifts, recipes, and crafts. If you need a prompt for a blog post comment, “What’s your favorite holiday treat, song, book, or activity?”

Be sure you let me know what you think! of this week’s finds!

Special note: There will still be scheduled posts throughout the week, however, there will not be a Friday Finds post on December 24th. It’s a labor of love that takes me all week to put together. I know myself well. I’ll be in panic mode all week and can’t afford to fall into the Goodreads and Pinterest rabbit holes!

Friday Finds for 17 December 2021

I’m learning all about Funko Pop characters from the grandkid’s wishlists. Just about the time my age started to show and I exclaimed “What’s the point?”, I remembered Troll Dolls. And I’m not talking about the new ones from the movies. I’m talking OLD-school from the 1960s!

Are you stuck for a gift idea? A young lady I know bought a Disney Plus subscription for her best friend. It was very, very well received by the entire family! I bet we could buy or renew all sorts of digital subscriptions for our friends and family. It’s last-minute and you can adjust the length to fit your budget. Sure beats the “jelly of the month club“! Books & Giveaways!

I have a special treat for you this week in the book category. Cricket Rohman (a great friend of the blog) is offering her beautiful “Christmas in the North Woods” for free on Dec 20 & 21. I see many families sitting around the fire (or pool, as the hemisphere dictates) reading this delightful tale.

Crafts

Christmas Tree Clothespin Ornaments image for Friday Finds 17 December 2021

Do you need a quick fun project? This idea is simple as can be and you can go fancy for adults to basic for children. Just cut out the shapes using Christmas cards, magazines, or create your own, then one drop of glue attaches them to the clothespin. You can use them to pin your Christmas cards to a piece of twine and hang them up. Be creative and use them as an advent calendar, place card holders, etc. I can think of dozens of ways to use them. If nothing else, it will keep the kiddos busy without much mess. I’m looking at you, Kinetic Sand! If you want to buy this exact set, it’s available here.

Compliments of the season. Glad to be able to open the Christmas version of Friday Finds.
Troll dolls are cute. And I would like to read the book with the title, Christmas in the North Woods.
