Friday Finds for 28 January 2022 | Hot List Books – A Full Meal Menu – 1-Hour Crochet Hat – Blog Roundup
Welcome to today’s edition of the Friday Finds. I hope you find something you enjoy in this post.
We’re still hanging out in the deep freeze here on the farm, but no snow so that’s a plus. It does make me crave soup, a good book, and a chance to curl up in my favorite chair. I’ve been forcing myself to only write during “working hours” and spend my evenings crafting or reading for pleasure. I have very high hopes I will have poor Logan’s sweater finished soon. I’ve started it over twice since he’s growing so fast and I lost my knitting mojo for a while. I’ll post pictures soon.
Are you finding all your favorite grocery items unavailable lately? Well, some are not unavailable, I just refuse to pay ridiculous prices to a random gouger online. This was my latest quest. I love these crunchy noodles in my soups & salads. They are becoming scarce. I’ve heard tell of so many items that are part of the shortage. I do my best to substitute, but I am a creature of habit and find it hard to replace a few of my favorites. I finally found a six-pack on Walmart for near my normal $1. per can, so I’m set for a bit.
We should list in the comments what we are having trouble finding, then we can share with each other if we come across a deal.
Time to move on to the Friday Finds for 28 January 2022. I can’t wait to chat with you in the comments about today’s finds!
Friday Finds for 28 January 2022: Books
I’ll Be There (But I’ll Be Wearing Sweatpants) by Amy Weatherly & Jess Johnston
Is it just me? Am I the only one who’s lonely? Am I the only one without friends?
If you’ve ever asked yourself these questions, Amy Weatherly and Jess Johnston, founders of the widely popular “Sister, I Am with You,” are raising their hands to say, “Yeah, us too.” And they want to encourage, equip, and reassure you that you have what it takes to build the kind of friendships you want.
I’ll Be There (But I’ll Be Wearing Sweatpants) provides you with the how of cultivating deep relationships in this messy, chaotic, beautiful life. Through Amy and Jess’s wisdom, humor, and confessional stories about the ups and downs of sisterhood, you’ll learn how to
- admit you need friends—then go out and find them,
- dismantle the lies you’ve believed about friendship,
- love yourself so you can find people who will love you for you,
- be a good friend even though you can’t be a perfect one, and
- heal from a friend breakup—and find the courage to try again.
It’s time you felt completely accepted as you are—from the top of your messy bun to the tips of your unpedicured toes. Let’s start making friendships a priority—together.

Molly Gray is not like everyone else. She struggles with social skills and misreads the intentions of others. Her gran used to interpret the world for her, codifying it into simple rules that Molly could live by.
Since Gran died a few months ago, twenty-five-year-old Molly has been navigating life’s complexities all by herself. No matter—she throws herself with gusto into her work as a hotel maid. Her unique character, along with her obsessive love of cleaning and proper etiquette, make her an ideal fit for the job. She delights in donning her crisp uniform each morning, stocking her cart with miniature soaps and bottles, and returning guest rooms at the Regency Grand Hotel to a state of perfection.
But Molly’s orderly life is upended the day she enters the suite of the infamous and wealthy Charles Black, only to find it in a state of disarray and Mr. Black himself dead in his bed. Before she knows what’s happening, Molly’s unusual demeanor has the police targeting her as their lead suspect. She quickly finds herself caught in a web of deception, one she has no idea how to untangle. Fortunately for Molly, friends she never knew she had unite with her in a search for clues to what really happened to Mr. Black—but will they be able to find the real killer before it’s too late?
A Clue-like, locked-room mystery and a heartwarming journey of the spirit, The Maid explores what it means to be the same as everyone else and yet entirely different—and reveals that all mysteries can be solved through connection to the human heart.

Another great Friday Finds, Gina. I can’t remember the last time I actually made bread! I used to love doing it too.
I’m off to check out the blogs you mentioned. x
Thanks for the shoutout, Gina!
We have been having trouble finding organic bread and when we do find it the price is really high these days.
Thank you for mentioning my blog! I need to crochet that hat and find out about Banook(?) bread.
Doesn’t that bread sound simple but good? I can’t wait to try it.
