💬 Reader Contest Question of the Week
I’d love to hear from you!
When winter settles in, what’s your favorite way to enjoy a cozy reading night — a warm drink, a blanket, a certain snack, or a special reading spot?
🗓️ Contest closes February 1, 2026 at noon CST.
🍪 Cozy Tip of the Week
If you’re leaning into a cozy stay-in kind of evening, this is one of my favorite cookie recipes to bake alongside a good book.
These brown butter chocolate chip cookies are everything I want in a winter treat — crunchy around the edges, soft and gooey in the middle, and rich without being overly sweet. They’re perfect for those nights when you want to stay in, stay warm, and let the oven do a little of the comforting for you.
The recipe comes from Scientifically Sweet, and it’s one I come back to again and again.

[…] Friday Finds – January 16, 2026 […]
What a fun and cozy post, Gina.
I enjoyed the science explained in this cookie recipe. (Baking Soda vs. Baking Powder.) Interesting.
So surprised on reading the "not too sweet" part as they look very rich. I also found the "brown butter" recipe one I want to give a try.
Oh, and reading? Always with a cozy blanket in the wintertime. I'll have to make these cookies to pair with it.
Thanks again!
~Rosie
Those soups sound really good, Gina. Unfortunately, they aren't available in Canada. Happy Friday.
Well darn, I never thought to check that. Maybe there is something similar?
There is a different brand available, but they don't sound as good. Oh well, I might give them a try.
I love to get settled under a heated throw in my recliner. Napping optional..lol.
The cookies look amazing.
Your recliner set-up needs cookies!
I love to bundle up under a nice warm blanket to read!
