Friday Finds | January 22 – 2021 | Books, Food, Fun
Hello and welcome to all. It’s been a pretty good week around here. After the trouble with the website last week, I am thankful that it was a fairly simple fix, even though incredibly stressful. Life has otherwise gone smoothly for me and mine. I hope it has for you too.
Read on to see what made it into the weekly Finds. As always, newsletter subscribers are eligible for extras and occasional prizes. If you are not on the email newsletter list, sign up for the fun today. The Friday Finds email list is separate from the “Follow this blog by email”, where you get an email whenever a new blog post is published. I would love to have you on both lists!

Ever Alice by H.J. Ramsay
Alice’s stories of Wonderland did more than raise a few eyebrows—it landed her in an asylum. Now at 15 years of age, she’s willing to do anything to leave, which includes agreeing to an experimental procedure. When Alice decides at the last minute not to go through with it, she escapes with the White Rabbit to Wonderland and trades one madhouse for another: the court of the Queen of Hearts. Only this time, she is under orders to take out the Queen. When love, scandal, and intrigue begin to muddle her mission, Alice finds herself on the wrong side of the chopping block.
Aether Ones by Wendi Coffman-Porter
Long ago, the Great Sundering ripped the universe apart, creating two separate realities. The kuldain realm developed advanced technology, and its inhabitants travel the universe on massive ships to colonize and expand their empire. The aether realm, meanwhile, harnessed the magic of the massively powerful eldrich energy that connects everything within their realm. Now, a tentative peace reigns between the two realms, maintained by a treaty and by the Imperial Investigative Service–a force designed to monitor interactions between the realms and ensure that most kuldain inhabitants don’t even know aether space exists. Leilani Falconi, a talented agent of the IIS, polices the galaxy with quick sarcasm and a quicker temper. When a series of suspicious deaths in kuldain space threatens the secrecy and peace, Lei must solve the mystery–fast–before both her realities change forever.
Mickey on the Move by Michelle Wagner
In this big-hearted book, the real story of a young boy with deafness in his ears is aided by his mother and teachers in navigating new school experiences. Mickey is just like everyone else, except he wears cochlear implants and has to do things just a little differently than most. This charming tale reminds us that we can all find happiness if we lean on and support each other.

Hi Gina!
hope you’re doing fine.
Your post about the Book Bloggers’ Novel of the year awards is really great.
The beer cheese potato soup with sausage from Kylie at Midwest Foodie looks so yummy and the weave and knot bracelet looks so cute.
Thanks Chika, Doing great here. I hope you will enter the BBNYA competition. It was great publicity for authors and book bloggers last year.
Tweeted. Sorry about your computer problems. We’re facing quite a bit of it trying to register for a vaccine. The sites have kept crashing! Cute bracelet.
