Friday Finds | May 21, 2020 | Book Suggestions – Recipes – Crafts
Hey there,
How are you doing? Hopefully, we are all adjusting to our new normal routines. I think things are going to continue to change for a while, but we’ll all adapt as needed. We are a resilient bunch.
This week has been pretty good. I’ve read …. a lot! That is not uncommon for me, but it feels like it was more than usual.
My gardener fella loves the warmer weather. More flowers and plants are going in every day. Lucky for me, the most I have to contribute is telling him what colors go where. He has some colorblind issues, so I get to do the fun part, while he does the dirty work. His vegetable garden is looking amazing, even if sections are still underwater. We should have strawberries, lettuce, green onions, and radishes ready to eat very soon. I am so blessed to have married a man with a green thumb.
I hope you enjoy the roundup of books, posts, recipes, and crafts this week. Be sure you let me know what your favorite is.

The Order of TSP by C.A. Day
Living a mundane life in Stockton, California, Conlan meets Amalthea at a bar and share a night together, never expecting to see each other again. Not looking for anything serious, they wake up the next morning prepared to go their separate ways. Until a strange rabbit-like little man, knocks on the door, giving them both news that would change their lives forever.
They discover they are part of a group called The Helpers. An alliance that is tasked with saving mankind from an organization that has been manipulating humans for over a millennia. As Helpers, they can travel through time to fight The Order of TSP, interdimensional beings. An organization fixated on manipulating the minds of others through entering their dreams, in hopes of destroying another Order, unknown to The Helpers. It takes a moment for Conlan and Amalthea to listen, hesitant, and unsure of their future but open to new possibilities. With nothing holding them back, they embark on a new path, leaving their ordinary lives behind.
Being members of The Helpers comes with more responsibility than they were prepared for, not finding it easy to get along. Saving humanity doesn’t come easy. Having the first two, a brown book called Beathan and a silver hand mirror called Hormat, they must find the other 12 magical artifacts in hopes of opening the final portal and defeating the TSP. Soon, Conlan and Amalthea learn that their entire lives have been a lie. Since they were born, The Helpers had been preparing them for this very moment. People they thought were mere friends or mentors were Helpers, guiding them to this very moment. Furthermore, Conlan and Amalthea realize their artifacts are paired, forcing them to face this journey together. They now have no choice but to learn to trust each other and face the dangers ahead.
The Road to Emmaus: The New Deal by Sean Carlson
In the midst of the Great Depression, newly elected U.S. President, Franklin D. Roosevelt offers a new deal for the American people. An advisory team coined the ‘brains trust’ build the foundation of his government’s policies, which will impact American families for generations to come. But can human intervention and a new alignment of ‘truths’ resurrect a shared hope powerful enough to save a nation from itself?
The dusty road of human history cuts through the heart of every soul. Our search for truth is not easy to travel as the deadly allures of myth and deceit call us by name, presiding behind altars of ruin. The illusion is set. And lost in the forgotten timelines of a world under siege, an ancient promise remains. All of recorded history is an understanding of the pieces of ourselves that have come before and the road that remains. This journey is both an ’embarking on’ and a ‘leaving off.’ The history of yourself precedes you – going back to the beginning. No piece of history in the cosmos or on earth is exclusive of you. From an exiled apostle imprisoned in the heart of the Roman Empire to Cambodia’s killing fields and South America’s secret horrors. You wear the scars. From a litany of underground movements and failed revolutions to the fabled utopian kingdom of Camelot, the claim for truth has worn many faces. The long cold war between the icy dominion of Kalashnikov and a succession of presiders struggling to raise the chalice to the parched lips of the world continues.
The battle remains yours to fight. You were a part of the old deal and are an even bigger part of the new deal. The dead hand of the past is no longer the end of us. Our history is not confined to the past, nor is it bound to the laws of earthly dimension. It is as timeless and free as you. The road awaits…

In case you missed it on the blog this week!
I had a rather slow blogging week. A lot was happening on the backend of the website that should make it run faster and smoother, but little shows on the frontend.
I reviewed books one and two from a trilogy. I can’t wait for book three to come out.
