Friday Finds – October 30, 2020
Welcome my friends to this week’s edition where I curate a list of book recommendations, recipes, and diy ideas.
Friday Finds – October 30, 2020 – Books
This week, I’m offering a little different take on the book recommendations. I’m sharing a few of my favorite authors so you can check out what they have to offer you. I’ll link to their Amazon page, as well as, one of my reviews or their author page on the website. I think I will try this every now and again to keep things fresh and give them some much needed exposure.
K. Kris Loomis
Kris writes in many genres from yoga instruction to metaphysical fiction to short stories to sweet, clean romance under her pen name Savannah Adams.
Mim Eichmann
I’ve only read one of Mim’s books so far, but it was very memorable. I’ll be reviewing her newest as soon as it’s available.
L.A. MacFadden
Laurie’s intriguing time-travel was a hit with my readers and I can’t wait to review a book from her contemporary romance genre written under Laurie Adair Grove.
James J. Cudney
Jay writes contemporary fiction and his cozy mystery series is excellent. His books are published in many languages. He has been popular with my readers. I can’t wait to review more of his delightful books.
That was fun. Do you have a favorite author that I’ve reviewed?
In case you missed it on the blog this week!
It was a busy week with reviews, promos, and spotlights. Check out some of the newest reviews on the homepage or click a heading for your favorite fiction, children’s, or non-fiction books.
Friday Finds – October 30, 2020 – Recipes
Rebecca at Strength and Sunshine has a fabulous pumpkin Rice Krispie recipe for us. Her words describe it well.
“Pumpkin Spice Rice Krispie Treats! Crisp, soft, and chewy, these easy gluten-free, vegan, and allergy-free Rice Krispie treats are perfect for fall or Halloween! No marshmallows needed, nut-free, loaded with real pumpkin, and topped with a dairy-free white chocolate drizzle! A lower-sugar recipe that’s an ideal kid-friendly dessert or sweet snack!”
Mom Endeavors shares a pasta dish that is part of her Halloween dinner post that is so fun. Seriously, take out the eyeballs and you could serve this anytime!
Ali from Gimme Some Oven has me craving this super simple Homemade Apple Cider. Whether you make it in your crockpot, Instant Pot, or stovetop, this is sure to make your house smell delicious. It would be fabulous for any fall party.
Friday Finds – October 30, 2020 – Creative Projects
Have you tried diamond paint by number? I haven’t but it looks really cool.
I’m working on a paint-by-number beach scene (non diamond) with my granddaughter, but that’s a story for another day.

That pasta dish looks yummy!!
I’m going to give the homemade apple cider a try. Sounds delish!
It does sound good. Let me know how you like it!
Can’t wait to read James Cudney’s latest but must finish a boatload before I get to it! Loved Watching Glass Shatter.
Thanks for stopping by Eve. I love all of Jay’s books. Hiding Cracked Glass is so good.
Great blog as always…but sadly I’m one of the few people who doesn’t like pumpkin spice. Ha.
Thank you, Eric. Nothing wrong with not liking pumpkin spice. I’m pretty picky about how I consume my pumpkin too. I do love chocolate though,!
That pasta dish looks super fun.
As for treats, the only candy I like is dark chocolate. Mix it with peanut or almond butter, and I’m all in. Pumpkin pie is also one of my favorites.
Thanks for stopping by Julia. Mixing almond butter and dark chocolate sounds divine! I like pumpkin pie as well. My grandson wants one so bad right now, but it has to be shaped like a stegosaurus! That’s definitely a job for his mother, not me.
I like the way you did the author features.
My favorite Halloween treat is chocolate! Any kind of chocolate!
Thanks, Jessica. I have you scheduled for the next round of author profiles! Any chocolate, any occasion, sounds right to me.
Hi Gina! You asked what our favorite Halloween treats were…it’s not baked goods for me, it’s Reeses’s peanut butter cups, Almond Joy, and Brach’s candy corn. When I’m with my grandkids on Halloween I always end up with some!
Hi Laurie, I love your favorites. I know there are so many recipes using candy corn, but I don’t like to mess with perfection. Candy corn is so good all by its self, but I am partial to the orange, white, and yellow ones.
