The 21 October 2022 Friday Finds are here with a new Blogger of the Week, Hot New Releases, Recipes, & a cool Halloween Project
Hello, my friends & welcome to the 21 October 2022 Fun! Are you having a good fall (or whatever season it is where you live)? Life is good here, The crops are in from the fields surrounding my house for miles, so that cuts down on the dust and allergens for me. We’ve had a couple of hard freezes, and that always helps my allergies too.
I’ve been holding to a pretty good schedule of reading and reviewing this week. I need to get a little ahead, so I have a stockpile of posts for days I’m busy, traveling, etc. Nothing causes burnout as quickly as making this feel like a job. So far, it’s definitely still fun for me!
I hope you enjoy this week’s post and be sure you leave a comment below voting for your favorite find of the week.
The winner of last week’s gift card drawing is Bea LaRocca. She’s been contacted by email to confirm her prize.
Peace & Love
Note: I’ve been including a purchase banner with every book/item I recommend. They don’t always show up, so I’m including the purchase images at the bottom of the post. Every purchase made through my links helps to support this blog.

Friday Finds | 21 October 2022 | Books
These are a few of the books that caught my eye this week. Have you read them? Would you like to?
It Starts With Us by Colleen Hoover
Switching between the perspectives of Lily and Atlas, It Starts with Us picks up right where the epilogue for the bestselling phenomenon It Ends with Us left off. Revealing more about Atlas’s past and following Lily as she embraces a second chance at true love while navigating a jealous ex-husband, it proves that “no one delivers an emotional read like Colleen Hoover” (Anna Todd, New York Times bestselling author).
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver
Demon Copperhead is set in the mountains of southern Appalachia. It’s the story of a boy born to a teenage single mother in a single-wide trailer, with no assets beyond his dead father’s good looks and copper-colored hair, a caustic wit, and a fierce talent for survival. In a plot that never pauses for breath, relayed in his own unsparing voice, he braves the modern perils of foster care, child labor, derelict schools, athletic success, addiction, disastrous loves, and crushing losses. Through all of it, he reckons with his own invisibility in a popular culture where even the superheroes have abandoned rural people in favor of cities.
The Wise Men Who Found Christmas by Raymond Arroyo
Finally, the True, Untold Story of the Wise Men…
They were not three kings. Nor were they from the Far East, or even Persia…
In this thrilling, visual adventure capturing the wonder of the Christmas season, New York Times bestselling author Raymond Arroyo shares the true, hidden story of the mysterious Magi, who risked everything to discover the truth. Based on new historical evidence, The Wise Men Who Found Christmas is the miraculous, untold tale of three seekers who followed a star and found themselves in the middle of the greatest story ever told. Stunningly illustrated by Diane Le Feyer, this enchanting family keepsake is sure to become part of your Christmas tradition – and a reminder that chasing truth is often the greatest adventure of all.
Hi Gina!
Hope you’re doing fine. Plant based Mexican pizza looks really great. Would try it out. Going for the 42 cozy mysteries from Goodreads is a great idea. Thanks for sharing
Best,
Happy Friday!
I’ve been so busy creating an updated version of Sneaky Snake’s book! I’m making a coloring book at the same time for this one with some word games to go along with it as well. I’m not sure if I’ll make it a printable only or upload the new version to Amazon but without the coloring part. They would need to be separate for Amazon. So much to do and so little time!
Can you nominate someone else’s blog to be featured? Irresponsible Reader has an awesome blog and is my go- to when I’m looking for detective books/mysteries or books about offbeat things (like the use of grammar in writing).
Sure, I’ll check it out
Always a delight to see your “picks”. I shared your post and hope you have a great weekend!
Pretty sure that pumpkin cake is illegal in several states. I’ll be yelling “Trick or pumpkin cake!” on neighbors’ doorsteps this year.
