Eat, Pray Love meets The Road Trip takes young lovers through India in a search for wisdom and higher love in this adventurous, heartwarming romance.
Lara and Daniel met when he performed his songs at a charity ball, and they fell madly in love. Moving into his apartment in Italy they planned a beautiful future, but Laraโs restless spirit suddenly decides they need to expand their consciousness. A pilgrimage in India! That will do it. Daniel agrees. Heโd follow his beautiful muse anywhere.
They follow Laraโs โMap for Enlightenmentโ through India's bustling city streets, soaring temples, and dusty plains. Daniel finds inspiration when he plays with Indian street musicians and learns their thrilling forms of music.
But a traffic accident puts Lara in the hospital, and Daniel decides itโs time to go home. Lara refuses, saying her search is just beginning and sheโll limp through the journey to find a spiritual retreat and a teacher of wisdom.
Life in a remote Indian ashram? Daniel can't fulfill his dreams there, and Lara canโt fulfill hers elsewhere. Their future together seems to be crumbling away. Are they heading for a heart-wrenching splitโor will love, truth, and music open a path they can share?
โThis book wakens the hopeless romantic within and gives you the courage to explore new things.โ

Excerpt from Heart Strung
After we leave the restaurant, it dawns on me that Daniel would be happy if we can find a concert of Indian music.
As if the universe pick up on my thought, I hear faint notes of a flute rising through the traffic noise. As we walk, the sound grows louder, and when we turn a corner, there they are, three street musicians with a microphone and an amplifier, playing on the street. A guitarist in a black cap, a woman in red and orange pajama outfit playing flute, and a sweet-voiced man singing. Theyโre playing for free to a circle of onlookers and any passersby who want to stop and listen. Buskers, they call them in England.
As soon as he sees them, Danielโs face brightens. He stops with me and smiles, shaking his head once. โI didnโt know they did that here! Street music.โ
We stand and listen. The honking horns of taxis mingles with melodies, guitar strumming, and voices. The lead singerโs vocals are tender and soft, ranging from low baritone notes to high. He vaults up and down the scale. A guy sits down on a tin canister and starts drumming on another, bringing form into the scribble of vocal tones.
Daniel laughs. โTheyโre singing Kishore Kumar songs. You know, Bollywood.โ
Another man joins him at the microphone and the tempo increases, the drummer pushing it and the guitarists strum faster. The melody sounds familiar.
He pokes my arm. โAnd now theyโve transitioned into Ed Sheeran! โDancing in the Darkโ. Go figure.โ
Iโm delighted with his delight. Finally, something in India he can relate to! The musicians are so cool. Theyโre our age and of our culture, which is world, not local. Iโm more at home now, too. Knowing that music transcends the boundaries. Even here in India. And thatโs why we play it. A universal language.

My Thoughts on Heart Strung
Heart Strung is a warm, heartfelt story about love, growth, and self-discovery. Following Lara and Danielโs road trip through India, the book captures that mix of excitement and uncertainty that comes with chasing your dreams โ and trying to figure out if love can survive real life along the way.
Rachel Dacus's easy, engaging writing style made me feel like I was right there in the middle of the adventure: the sensory details, the moments of tension, the flashes of joy. Itโs not just a romance; itโs about learning who you are when everything familiar falls away.
Even though this is part of The Invisibles series, it stands strong on its own. If you love character-driven romances with a bit of wanderlust and a lot of heart, Heart Strung is a trip well worth taking.
I received a copy of the book for the tour. This review is my honest, unbiased opinion.

What was the "spark" moment that made you want to write this story?
I realized that the story of Daniel and Lara had only just begun at the end of RETURN TO LERICI, and I also wanted to pay a travel-homage to India, a gorgeous and ancient place I've twice visited. Plus, I love road trip romances.
Sounds fun! Thank you for the excerpt! I love the cover! ๐
