March 20, 2020 Friday Finds – Books
If you are interested in what people were thinking this past week, I find it quite telling to look at what books they were buying.
Take a look at the Top 50 Bestsellers on Amazon last week. It certainly shows what is on our minds!
Now on to some personal finds. I’ll be reviewing these in the near future, but you can check them out now.
After the Blitz: A Clean Sports Romance (The Inman Brothers Book 1) by Savannah Adams
Chip Inman’s life trajectory was always meant to lead him straight to the NFL. But a nasty head injury during his last college home game threw him into uncertain territory where memories were hard to come by.
Greta Griffin, a shy dog groomer with aspirations to train service dogs, was instrumental years ago in helping Chip Inman graduate high school. She’d had feelings for the star quarterback for as long as she could remember but didn’t run in his circles.
When Chip’s father hires Greta and her therapy dog to help Chip regain his memory, her feelings for him intensify. But when a woman claiming to be his girlfriend appears, Greta is reminded just how out of place she would be in Chip’s fast-paced football world.
Can Greta help Chip regain his lost memory in time for the NFL draft? And if she does, will Chip choose the life others have planned for him or the one he wants with Greta?
You’ll love After the Blitz if you’re a fan of sweet and clean reads, sports romances, and amnesia stories with a happily ever after.
After the Blitz is the first book in a new series by Savannah Adams, author of the Love Stories from Magnolia Grove series. Each book in this clean sports series is a complete story with overlapping characters and can be read in any order. A swoon-worthy ending guaranteed!
Mission from Venus by Susan Plunkett
The dark side has infiltrated many governments and much of the world of finance. The mission from Venus threatens their planned takeover of Earth. Failing a takeover, the dark lords will cause the planet’s destruction through nuclear war, to prevent Earth from ascending to the fourth dimension on the path of light. The volunteer wanderers are all that stand in the way.
Wanted: An Honest Man (The Lindsey Lark Series Book 1) by Cricket Rohman (3 book series available in Kindle Unlimited)
With a little mystery, a little romance, and shocking twists and turns, WANTED: AN HONEST MAN captures Lindsey Lark’s search for balance between her love life and her teaching career.
She is a fighter and a positive thinker, but when the man of her dreams betrays her, she struggles, unaware there is far more to her heartbreaking situation than meets the eye. A baffling mistaken-identity issue arises.
Strange phone calls begin to haunt her. A stalker, perhaps? Although she doesn’t want to be alone, she isn’t ready to go looking for new love, but men find her anyway in this friends-to-lovers series. Lindsey is grateful to have Wendell, her 180-pound mastiff, close by.
A handsome college student involved in some tricky human research gets into trouble in more ways than one. His inherent propensity to play detective, though helpful at times, seems to attract Murphy and his darned Law far too often … and now his eyes are on Lindsey. Will his heart follow?
Come along with Lindsey as life leads her to the Grand Canyon, North Dakota, and the Zuni Mountains, where she stumbles upon adventure, danger, and love.
Four-year-old Jonathan Miller was rescued by a girl with rainbow hair, shrouded in black, who flew like magic along the ground.
Eighteen-year-old Jon, obsessed with fantasy and the supernatural, dreams of her still.
Now she has returned. She says he’s no longer safe and that he needs to come with her; that the necklace she gifted him is no longer enough.
But who is she?
And who is he?
Joined by his best friend, Miles, Jon is led on a frightening tour of an Otherworld he knew nothing about; a missing Seer, the nefarious Otherworld hitmen the Vipers, witches, Not-Mermen and the ugly toads that had once captured him.
And his companions have their own gifts.
They are Darovit;
Their scaled Dar their constant companions.
But she is not just his hero
And he was not just a boy
And the Otherworld
Is hunting him still
Howie and the Parcel Winch by Gavin Wicklow
Humorous Fiction – Battling writer’s block by day, then shackled to a desk at an office job by night, the author turns to the Internet for inspiration and escape. Drawing upon his past, he brings to life characters deranged and depraved and sets them loose to mingle with people in the real world. But soon his amusement transforms into horror as his pranks come to reveal the ease with which others can be deceived, his every target reeled in by Howie and his parcel winch.

March 20, 2020 Friday Finds – Recipes
Since I hope we are all staying home as much as possible, maybe you have a little time to play in the kitchen. These three recipes will be fun to try.
Why not experiment with a delightful new drink? This White Wine Peach Sangria looks divine!
Our ways of shopping have changed drastically for the time being. Shopping was very much on my mind this week so I spent some time searching for market/shopping bags. I found three patterns from three different crafts to tempt you. Maybe we can use this time at home to create a new market bag for when we once again go about our normal shopping.
A knit Market Bag from Two of Wands Shop
A Crochet Market Bag pattern from JaydalnStitches
A Grocery Bag sewing pattern from Design Blanche
