Blooming Into Life by Kristie Booker
Growing up on a farm in Brockville, Illinois, did not prepare Colleen O’Brien Adler to be the wife of a wealthy entertainment lawyer living in Chicago. It certainly didn’t prepare her to be Dinah Adler’s daughter-in-law. The stay-at-home mother of two has more than she’s ever wanted—a personal stylist, a prestigious country club membership, a multimillion-dollar home—but she finds herself not only struggling with depression and body image but also failing as a parent and fearing for her marriage. Her life is about to change when an invitation to a wellness meeting arrives in her inbox. With some coaxing from personal coach Kory Stone, she commits to a new beginning. But will she be able to overcome the things that are holding her back?
Your Best Year Ever: A 5-Step Plan for Achieving Your Most Important Goals by Michael Hyatt
We all want to live a life that matters. We all want to reach our full potential. But too often we find ourselves overwhelmed by the day-to-day. Our big goals get pushed to the back burner–and then, more often than not, they get forgotten. New York Times bestselling author Michael Hyatt wants readers to know that it doesn’t have to be this way. In fact, he thinks that this is the year readers can finally close the gap between reality and their dreams.
Feversong: A Fever Novel by Karen Marie Moning
As Mac, Barrons, Ryodan, and Jada struggle to restore control, enemies become allies, right and wrong cease to exist, and the lines between life and death, lust and love, disappear completely.
This is book 9 of Moning’s Fever series. It was originally written as the conclusion of the series. However, there was much more story to be told. High Voltage 0 Book 10 was recently released. I plan to review it soon. I highly recommend this series. It has all my favorite components: fantasy, alternate universe, Scotland, highlanders, thrills, and chills. Characters from Moning’s 9 book Highlander series also make a few appearances and tie in with the Fever series.
The Thistle & Hive Series, an 8 book series by Jennae Vale. All are available on Kindle Unlimited **
A Bridge Through Time: Book 1 of The Thistle & Hive Series **
Ashley Moore’s life in San Francisco has hit a few snags, not the least of which involves sightings of a mystery man around every corner. Is she losing her mind or does he really exist? Her search for this grey-eyed stranger leads her to Scotland. There she meets a witch with a secret, a vindictive English knight who is bent on revenge, and she crosses a fog shrouded bridge into the arms of a 16th century Highlander.
Cailin MacBayne is no stranger to beautiful women, but has always managed to stay one step ahead of commitment. That all comes to an end when he meets Ashley. He doesn’t care where this beautiful, yet unusual lass came from, he’s just happy to have found her. Ashley cannot resist the handsome Scot and finds herself falling hopelessly in love. In the process, a secret is revealed, a battle is waged and Ashley must ultimately decide whether to return to her own time or give up her 21st century life to stay with the love she has found in the past.
A Thistle Beyond Time: Book 2 of The Thistle & Hive Series **
Cormac MacBayne wants a wife and the witch, Edna Campbell, has the perfect woman in mind. The only problem is they’re separated by five hundred years and thousands of miles. Fresh from a bad marriage, Jenna Sinclair has sworn off men – that is until a handsome highlander comes out of the fog and into her life. He’s a mystery and possibly part of an elaborate practical joke concocted by her cousin. Jenna’s had enough deception in her life. Can she risk everything to be with a man who is so obviously lying to her?
Separated By Time: Book 3 of The Thistle & Hive Series **
A vision of disaster has Edna Campbell sending her niece, Maggie MacKinnon, a fledgling witch, back in time to sixteenth century Scotland in an attempt to save the MacKenzie clan and to face a mirror image of herself in the form of an evil witch named Brielle. Disguised as a young lad and accompanied by her Uncle Angus, Maggie must prevail in this life and death chess match of witch versus witch. There is much at stake, including the fate of her budding relationship with Dylan Sinclair, her future as a witch and the very existence of the bridge through time.
Dylan Sinclair is on the adventure of a lifetime, having travelled back in time to Medieval Scotland. Handsome and charming, he is a magnet for women, but the only one he’s interested in is back in twenty first century Glendaloch, or so he thinks. Brielle, disguised as Maggie, arrives at Breaghacraig, much to Dylan’s surprise and confusion, as he realizes she is very different from the girl he thought he was falling in love with. Not one to give up on his first chance at real love, Dylan sets about trying to solve the puzzle that Maggie has become.
A Matter of Time: Book 4 of The Thistle & Hive Series **
Sir Richard Jefford has a reputation and it’s a bad one. The witch Edna Campbell seems to think he can change for the better, because she’s giving Richard a chance to redeem himself in present day San Francisco. Confused as to why he’s there and what he’s to learn, Richard wonders how he can possibly be successful. Will he get his chance at a new life, or will circumstances deny him what he truly desires and cause him to return to his old ways?
Angelina Lawson thinks she has it all figured out when it comes to love. She is a beautiful woman who could have any man she wants, but Angelina doesn’t trust any of them enough to ever be in love. Protecting her heart is first and foremost in her life, that is, until she meets a man so unexpectedly different, he could possibly change her mind and claim the heart she so fiercely guards.
Battling their pasts, as well as each other, Richard and Angelina find themselves running for their lives back to sixteenth century Scotland, while being pursued by Malcolm Granger, a man who would do anything to go back in time to recover a lost treasure.
A Thistle & Hive Christmas: A Thistle & Hive Novella **
It’s Christmas at The Thistle & Hive Inn and Edna Campbell couldn’t be happier. She’s sent all of her time travelling friends and their families a special invitation to meet at the bridge on December 22, where they’ll be transported through time from the year 1516 to present day Glendaloch. It should be a joyful celebration, but things may not go exactly as planned when sixteenth century highlanders and their twenty-first century wives invade this small village.
A Turn In Time: Book 5 of The Thistle & Hive Series **
Summoned by his father to return home immediately, Dougall MacRae knows he cannot leave without his beloved Helene. He asks her to marry him and accompany him back to Castle Treun unaware that his father has plans for him to wed another in an attempt to strengthen clan alliances. He can keep Helene as a mistress, but not as his wife.
Helene has lived her whole life at Breaghacraig and has left it all behind to marry Dougall. She refuses, however, to remain at Castle Treun as his mistress. Fleeing in the dark of night with no idea how to return to Breaghacraig, Helene stumbles upon a beautiful stone bridge. Devastated and alone she contemplates life without Dougall. As she pleads aloud for someone to help her, she is engulfed in a thick fog and when it clears she finds herself in the year 2016 in San Francisco, California, where Dougall’s betrayal has led her into the arms of the kind, handsome stranger who saves her in her hour of need.
All In Good Time: Book Six of The Thistle & Hive Series **

She decides to leave her brother, her home, and her entire life behind to find him, but first she must convince Edna Campbell to send her back in time. The witch sees trouble ahead for the determined lass, and tries to discourage her. But Sara has made up her mind and won’t be deterred.
Logan MacPhail has done his best to forget the beautiful woman he met when he traveled to the future. When she shows up unexpectedly in his world, it’s only to find he has made a pledge out of duty that he will not break. Logan tries to convince Sara to return to her own time. Instead, Sara’s broken heart leads her on an adventure into the Scottish countryside. She is willing to fight for love, but will it be enough to convince Logan to break his promise and follow his heart?
A Long Forgotten Time: Book Seven of The Thistle & Hive Series **
Brenna MacRae finds herself an unwelcome guest in her own home. Ever since her father married Greer Matheson, her new stepmother has been trying to get rid of her. She’s now intent on marrying Brenna off to a man old enough to be her father. Unwilling to marry, Brenna takes matters into her own hands and runs away with the intent of finding refuge with her brother and his wife. She doesn’t make it very far before being forced back to Castle Treun and the possibility of life with a very dangerous man.
Zeke Barrett didn’t plan on traveling back in time, especially if it meant possibly seeing the woman he once loved and lost, but he finds he has no choice if he wishes to ever see his sister Sara again. He enlists the aid of the witch, Edna Campbell, who agrees to help him, but as usual, Edna has an ulterior motive.
Awakened By Time: Book Eight of The Thistle & Hive Series **
Elle Carrera is a fading pop star who, in pursuit of her career, has shut herself off from all that really matters in life. On the way to meet her manager to discuss an upcoming tour, she is shocked to find herself in sixteenth century Scotland. How she got there is a mystery, but once at Breaghacraig she learns about the matchmaking witch, Edna Campbell and what her possible plans for Elle may include.
All he wanted to do was time travel, but instead Hamish MacBeown finds himself responsible for the well-being of a time traveler. It appears the witch misunderstood his request, because the last thing he wants or needs is the responsibility of protecting an unusual lass from the future. This could be the opportunity he’s been waiting for, but as he seeks adventure he risks a broken heart, that is unless Elle has been awakened by time.
Alistair: A Highlander Romance (The Ghosts of Culloden Moor Book 40) ** by Jo Jones
Alistair MacDonell is tasked with a question when he leaves the moor for his two-day mortal quest, but a sudden fall erases his memory. How will he find the answer when he can’t remember the question?
Brie Drummond loves the carefully constructed seclusion of her cabin. But when a rash of break-ins across the mountain destroys her sense of security, can she trust the injured Highlander with no name?
Is this stranger the one threatening her safety, or the one to save her and help free her from her fears? And will either of them find the answers in time?
This is book 40 in the fun Ghosts of Culloden Moor series. I previously reviewed books 1-39 here. Forty books in and I still love it. That says a lot for the authors of the series!
It is entirely possible I will venture off into other books or another series before the end of March. I am very susceptible to suggestions from friends and fellow readers. Feel free to send me some of your favorite books to read. I readily admit to being addicted to reading!!
