My thoughts on Merren and the Heron by Tony Dow
Merren and the Heron is a beautifully illustrated picture book for young children. The story may seem simple, but layers of fun can be found between the covers.
The story is, for the most part, told in rhyme. I occasionally questioned the punctuation, but that certainly didn’t take away from the story for me.
There is a lovely main story, a mystery, find the hidden person, and so many more ways to make the book different each time it’s read.
I recommend Merren and the Heron to anyone that reads to children. Please consider purchasing a copy for a child or library today.
I received a copy of the book from the author, this review is my honest, unbiased opinion.
