Holding on to Someday is the debut novel from author K. Leah, and she hit it out of the park. I found so much to treasure in this book. Does anyone’s life turn out exactly as we planned? I bet we can all find a bit of Clara within ourselves. I read this book last fall, and it keeps popping back into my head. So I believe, it deserves a bit more write up on the blog. There are so many experiences in the book that apply to every reader’s life. We all need a lesson in taking the right chances and not settling for what life presents us. We need to work hard to pick the higher, sweeter fruit from the tree.

Amazon Synopsis:

Clara had it all planned out… graduate from college, get married, find her dream job and start a family of her own. When she met Drew during her senior year of college, she was certain he was the Prince Charming she had been waiting for, the one to complete her fairytale life. It turns out life had different plans.

Now a single, middle-aged workaholic, Clara has poured herself into building her career, and those dreams of finding love have taken a backseat to her success. She’s been holding out for someday, but when that day finally comes… will she follow her heart or will fate step in yet again?

My review of Holding on to Someday by K. Leah

Holding onto Someday is a clean romance, meaning there are no graphic sex details. Is there romance? Absolutely! I love this genre because the writing, characters, and story become the focus. A clean romance does not mean it has no sex, just that the sex is not written about in detail. As adults, we are smart enough to figure out what is happening without graphic descriptions. When I am reading a book, I feel like the characters become my friends and I don’t need to know details of my friends’ sex life.

What a fabulous debut novel! I was hooked from the opening page and could not put it down. I fell in love with the characters, the setting, and lived every joy and heartache with Clara. It was a rollercoaster of emotions and I loved every minute of it. Holding on to Someday is a wonderful book with twists and turns, a little drama and angst, and a shocking ending. You will find no spoilers here so you really must read this debut novel from K. Leah.
