When tragedy strikes, an unconvicted, "politically-shielded" professional killer blames and hunts a young woman. He pursues sweet revenge. Her beloved adoptive family circles the wagons around her. For him, it's more than a job. It's welcomed war. Can the family survive? How?
In Prosperity, Texas, charm begins at the county line, a large mint green sign reads: "Wholesome Living in a Storybook setting". A town park - resplendent with yellow, pink and red roses, a white gazebo, a stout limestone footbridge, a pond flanked by Weeping Cherry trees and nesting Mallard ducks - locks-in the message.
Yet, beneath the idyllic sugar-coated appearance, plenty of problems plague Prosperity - political corruption, an influx of illegal drugs, road rage, theft, prostituion and pornography. Sheriff Gordon has put his stamp on Prosperity - reaping huge profits in the process. His go-to-enforcer, Bruce, a cocaine-addicted, misogynistic, hit man maintains law, order and iron-fisted justice as per Gordon's aggressive agenda.
Camille, a gorgeous, lonely, young woman has caught the unwavering eye and attention of Gordon's son, Grant. Handsome, wealthy, powerful, sadistic Grant and naive Camile become a couple in spite of Gordon's fury. Camille has also enchanted Ben, Bruce's only son, and Grant's best friend.
For adult audiences only. DLSV - a sex trafficking novel inspired by a true story.

Excerpt from Plenty
“A pearl-white Prius raced along the stretch of interstate for an important meeting, possibly life-changing for Camille.
“Wouldn’t you rather own a Corvette? A Prius can’t compare. I mean, there’s no cool factor,” Camille said as she fingered the fuzzy bee dangling beneath the rearview mirror.
“Well, actually I like Corvettes, but that car wouldn’t be useful in my life now. As a church youth-group leader, I have to travel more than you’d imagine. Layer on the commute to town, and I’d put a hundred thousand miles on that car in no time,” Mark answered with a smile. “Cool isn’t always the priority, Camille.”
“Maybe not when you’re old, I guess,” she mused. “You do listen to cool music. I like Queen. ‘We Are the Champions’ is by far one of my favorite songs. Crank it up!”
Mark adjusted his slumping posture to sit a little taller and turned the volume down. “I’m only thirty years old, Camille. My family hasn’t prepared for my funeral yet.” He continued, “Enough about me—let’s talk about you.”

My Thoughts on Plenty
In Plenty, Kelly K. Lavender tells a story of suspense, survival, and resilience set in the unpredictable landscape of rural Texas. This tale blends family drama with tense, nail-biting moments, creating a narrative that keeps readers hooked.
Lavender’s vivid descriptions bring the setting to life. Sometimes, quite graphically. The protagonist, Camille, shines as a relatable and compelling character. Her struggles and triumphs make her journey emotionally charged and deeply engaging. You might even shed a few tears along the way.
The supporting cast of Grant, Ben, Gordon, Jennifer, and Joy add depth to the story, each contributing to the intricate web of relationships and challenges Camille faces. Many of these characters are rotten, depraved, and sadistic. Unfortunately, this evil is all too common in real life, and the wholesome characters are often overshadowed.
It’s an intense tale ideally suited for readers who enjoy stories of personal growth with underlying themes of tragedy and the seedier side of life. “Plenty” offers a satisfying and thought-provoking experience, even when tackling challenging themes and hard-to-read situations.
