I recently ran a spotlight for this book during a blog tour. It sounded quite intriguing, so when the author offered me a chance to review it, I agreed. I’m glad I did. A Reservoir Man is a thought-proving read.

My thoughts on A Reservoir Man by L.J. Ambrosio
A Reservoir Man by L.J. Ambrosio will be many things to many people. It’s a coming-of-age story, as well as, a treatise on finding your true self.
The tale is told in an autobiographical narrative, connecting the character with the reader in an entertaining style.
Michael gave me a bit of a Forest Gump vibe in the way he was extremely naive and perhaps, because he does his best ruminating while sitting on a bench. The location of the bench changes throughout the story, but it remains a consistent theme.
Beginning in 1947, Michael’s life travels through many changes until the present day. No one truly lives without constant change to their thoughts and perceptions. This is especially true of Michael, who strives to avoid being what he calls, a “Reservoir Man”. His definition is of a man who settles for what’s expected of him without challenging himself to find his truth. Truth and freedom are Michael’s ultimate goals.
Michael’s journey to reach that freedom is a twisting, turning path. He encounters numerous life-changing events, from sexual orientation and exploitation to found-family and acceptance.
This is a thought-provoking story that will resonate with readers wherever they are in their personal journey. I expect everyone to take something different from this tale, but no one who reads it will be unaffected.
