Engaging Sir Isaac (Inglewood #4) by Sally BrittonPublished by Blue Water Books on 02/26/2020
Genres: Fiction, Historical Fiction, Regency Romance
Format: eBook, Paperback
Pages: 280
She swore she would win the baronet’s heart in order to break it, never dreaming she would lose her own in the process.
Millicent Wedgwood will never obtain her rightful place in Society, which means she will never have an advantageous reputation, marriage, or fortune. All because Millie's sister eloped years before. But there is a chance to rise above that disgrace if Millie will take part in a dare. If she can win the baronet who insulted Lady Olivia, and then shatter his heart, she will earn back her position in Society with Lady Olivia’s sponsorship.
Sir Isaac Fox returned from war with one less arm and a weight upon his soul. Where once he easily charmed Society, he now prefers to remain quietly alone at home. With a failing estate to manage, Isaac is determined to be more responsible and less foolhardy, which leaves no time for romance. Certainly no time for the infuriatingly enchanting Miss Wedgwood.
When Millie realizes her game has put her own heart in jeopardy, she risks losing everything she has so desperately sought to replace in her life. And though Isaac refuses Millie's advances, he cannot deny her charm. But falling for Miss Wedgwood would mean reentering society and losing the peace he has found since the war. Can they find a way to heal their hearts together? Or will Millie's deception ruin them both? This is the fourth book in the Inglewood series and can be read as a stand alone, Sweet Regency Romance.

My review: Engaging Sir Isaac by Sally Britton

Engaging Sir Isaac is a superb Regency Romance novel. Author, Sally Britton, captures your heart and attention on page one. She doesn’t turn you loose until the final word is written.
Engaging Sir Isaac is book 4 in the Inglewood series. It can certainly be read as a stand-alone novel, but for greater enjoyment, I recommend reading the entire series in order.
The settings are well-described and the pacing is excellent. You can tell the author has researched her selected era well. The story easily transports you to early 19th century England.
Millie is a heroine with a strong backbone and a moral compass. To please her family, she attempts an alliance with the thoroughly spoiled and wicked Lady Olivia.
Sir Isaac is the stoic hero battling inner and outer demons from the war with Napoleon. His world is turned upside down when he meets up with lovely Miss Wedgewood.
He can’t fight his savior complex and she plans to double-cross him. What happens when the sparks fly?
Please read this delightful story to find out how their story ends.

Sure do love me some regency romances! Love the premise of this one!
Regency romances are my go-to for escapism. I really need that right now!
Do love a regency novel 😀
This book sounds like a nice change from all the non-fiction I’ve been reading. I think it’s time to read a book simply for enjoyment. Thank for the review and the recommendation! Blessings to you! I’m your neighbor at #InspireMeMonday.
Thanks for stopping by, neighbor! I’ll be sure to return the favor.
This seems right up my alley. But I’d definitely need to start from the beginning. Reading a series out of chronological order would drive me insane lol.
It is a stand-alone story. Each book is complete in itself. That said, I am the same way. I want to understand & learn more about every character in a series. They are available in Kindle Unlimited, if that is an option for you.
Awesome! Very enticing! I know I would LOVE to know how the story unfolds!
I’ve been waiting for this one ever since I read the first Inglewood book! I love Sally Britton’s writing, too. I hope I win! 😉
Best of luck to you, Lila! Thanks for reading & commenting.
I love Sally britton! I’m definitely going to check this out! Thanks!

Me too. I find them a nice escape from reality and usually so entertaining.
