Robert Kugler's Avery & Angela series    The Last Good Day (Avery & Angela Book 1) by Robert Kugler

Two best friends. One last day. One huge secret that changes everything!
Avery Young is having a moment. How he handles it will determine his future.

A talented musician, Avery is leaving home in New Jersey to study at the Boston Conservatory of Music. Before he boards the 8 AM Northeast Connector out of Princeton Junction, he has one last day at the Jersey Shore with his best friend of four years, Angela, who’s been unusually distant all summer.

When Angela finally reveals the reasons behind that distance, it changes everything,

When the moment comes, as they stand along the shore, Avery is forced to reconsider who he is, who he wants to be, and more immediately, what is he going to do now? His plans for the future, which include musical stardom and a life of constant creativity with his best friend by his side, have gone completely up in flames.

How can he pursue his dreams when it could mean losing Angela, the only stable thing in his life, forever?

THE LAST GOOD DAY is the first book in the “Avery & Angela” series.

Robert Kugler's Avery & Angela series The Last Good Day by Robert Kugler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Last Good Day (Avery & Angela Book 1) is a beautiful “coming of age” story. Our young couple finds themselves in the last days of that innocent time known as high school. As they start their journey to college, life hits them with tragedies, illness, and hard decisions to make. Welcome to adulthood.

The characters are well-developed and will steal your heart. The author includes music references throughout the book which are a great added touch in bringing the story to life.

I recommend this book to readers of Young Adult, Clean Romance, and General Fiction genres.

Read it today, then get Book 2 immediately. You won’t want to wait.

ir?t=wwwginamitche 20&language=en US&l=li2&o=1&a=1791549225Robert Kugler, the author of THE LAST GOOD DAY, is back with book two in the Avery & Angela series, ON THE ROAD TO HERE.

With his first semester and her four months of chemotherapy completed, Avery is anxious to finally spend time with Angela.

But her doctors and her family have other ideas.

Being a normal couple was always going to be a challenge, but things only get harder and weirder as they navigate their first time alone together since summer, their exhausting parents and her drunk uncle. Add in a series of unexpected medical tests and the world’s strangest audition and Avery & Angela find themselves hurtling towards uncertainty.

Can they overcome her cancer, family drama, and the great unknowns ahead of them? Will their newfound love for one another survive Winter Break?

For that matter, will they?

Avery & Angela face far more than one bump ON THE ROAD TO HERE.

Below is my review of On the Road to Here, Avery & Angela Book 2.

Robert Kugler's Avery & Angela series On the Road to Here by Robert Kugler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

On the Road to Here is book two of the Avery & Angela series. I recommend you read The Last Good Day: Book One first to get the most from this one, although it could stand alone. We pick up the story a few months after the end of book one. Avery & Angela are reunited after he ends his first semester at the music conservatory and she has finished a round of chemotherapy.

They go through the typical trials of a young couple in love, not the least of which is dealing with relatives during the holidays. At times the story is divinely innocent and sweet, yet the author does not sugar coat the harsh realities that creep into everyone’s life. They face her illness, his insecurities, temper, and ambitions with determination and humor. Will their love carry them through it all?

“On the Road to Here” is full of music references, guitars, family strife, tender moments and so much more.

Book Two ends with a surprising twist that left me desperate for Book Three. I highly recommend this story for everyone, but especially for fans of music and love.

Biography of Robert Kugler

A native of New Jersey. Robert Kugler retired from education to become a stay-at-home dad. Following his years as a teacher and school administrator, it is not surprising his first novel focuses on the lives and perspectives of young people.

Spending his formative years in South Jersey, Wildwood, in particular, has provided a unique perspective on the real New Jersey Shore, not to mention an inability to live more than forty miles from the ocean.

A graduate of both The College of Wooster and Seton Hall University, Robert is an avid Philadelphia Sports fan and enjoys working part-time as a mixologist at George Washington’s Mount Vernon.

He currently lives in Northern Virginia with his wife and three children and a Labrador named Maggie. He spends as much time as possible in Wildwood, NJ, as it’s simply the best beach on the East Coast.

In conclusion, I find Robert Kugler’s books to be well-written, insightful, and entertaining. He has a wonderful grasp of the teenage mentality as well as an understanding of family issues. Kugler’s Avery & Angela series provides an incredible look into the stressful life of teens dealing with real-life issues and how they find joy along the way.
