My thoughts on Sedona
Sedona by Kerry Fryar Freeman will make you fall in love with Sedona’s beauty and mysticism while taking you on a journey of healing and self-discovery. Cal Novak’s move from Atlanta, Georgia, to this iconic Arizona town serves as the perfect backdrop for a story filled with rich, vibrant characters who each bring something special to the table.
Freeman does an excellent job of immersing readers in the natural wonders of Sedona, making the setting feel like a character in its own right.
Transformation and finding peace are recurring themes throughout the book, making it a compelling read for anyone who has ever sought a fresh start.
While the plot may occasionally lean towards the predictable, the warmth of the characters and the vivid descriptions of Sedona’s landscapes make this novel a soothing and uplifting experience.
It’s a beautiful escape for those in need of some inspiration and tranquility.
I received a copy of the book for the tour. This review is my honest, unbiased opinion.

Guest Post by Kerry Freeman, Author of Sedona
Stephen King Wins Again
Mention AI in a bookstore and you’ll get a mixture of grunts and praise and perhaps even a Siri response defining its purpose but for many authors out there, it feels like the beginning of an end, the inevitable demise of world-building that was once passed down through the oral tradition before the written word. I’m not going to blame this on the sci-fi writers out there; that’s too easy because they saw it coming years ago, long before people like me started dreaming it up. No, I want to bring the great Stephen King into the picture.
It’s not for the reasons you may think, though. Stephen King, like many authors out there, understands how to write the perfectly flawed human character. From Carrie to The Outsider, you read his books, not for the polished armor of his white knights on their steeds but for the dinted and bruised exteriors of his warriors who are inevitably more interesting and relatable. The action created by drama and action, dialogue and emotion that is raw and awkward can only come from characters created by someone who understands life and Stephen King has lived a life. (This is where you take a bow, King).
Even if you aren’t a King fan, you see where I’m going with this. AI isn’t human. I recently came across a series of job postings asking for people to “feed” AI by writing scenarios and then answering those scenarios in different ways. You had to have a degree in English and Creative Writing and be able to pass a series of grammar and communication tests. I thought, “wow, what a cool idea for a story. Who takes a job teaching AI?” And not just teaching, but giving their brain to AI? What would Stephen King do?
While authors try to navigate the world of AI, I encourage everyone to use their best judgement. Stay creatively clean. Let your consciousness be your guide. In the end, when you put your name on your book, to thine own self be true. For readers out there, AI often steals from other books. Please purchase books from trusted sources and support self-published, Indie, and traditionally published authors the right way. Like most things, AI isn’t all bad. But when it comes to writing books, I’ll take human flaws over AI “perfection” any day.
