The 16 September 2022 Friday Finds are here with a new Author of the Week, Indie Author Announcements, New Book Releases, Chili & S’mores, and Fall Blankets
Hello, my friends & welcome to the 16 September 2022 Fun!
This weekend is our family chili cookout. We plan to clean out the garden and use everything we can either in the chili or as a side. So we should finish up the tomatoes, radishes, onions, etc. The carrots and turnips are nearly ready, too. It’s supposed to be in the 90s again, so the kids will get their last chance at swimming and, of course, eating their fill of smores.
By next week I expect the combines to start rolling in the fields. That’s a sure sign that fall is here…and unfortunately for me… fall allergies! It’s been so dry here I expect to be a prisoner in the house while the dust flies outside. Luckily, I’m pretty happy with my books and yarn!
I hope you enjoy this week’s post and be sure you leave a comment below voting for your favorite find of the week.
Peace & Love

Friday Finds | 16 September 2022 | Books
These are a few of the books that caught my eye this week. Have you read them? Would you like to?
Dinners with Ruth: A Memoir on the Power of Friendships
Celebrated NPR correspondent Nina Totenberg delivers an extraordinary memoir of her personal successes, struggles, and life-affirming relationships, including her beautiful friendship of nearly fifty years with Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

A brilliant American president is also a psychopath. He has his finger on the red button. And he’s about to start a world war with our most dangerous enemy. Put your finger on the order button. Push it to read James Patterson’s best and scariest novel yet.

The Midnight Children by Dan Gemeinhart
From Dan Gemeinhart, the acclaimed author of The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise, comes an extraordinary story about a family of runaways who take up residence in a small town, and the outcast boy who finds his voice and his people―perfect for fans of Katherine Applegate and Kate DiCamillo.

Friday Finds | 16 September 2022 | Recipes
This chili recipe is very similar to what we use. It can be done on the stove, in a crockpot, and of course, over a fire. We generally use a combination of ground beef, pork, and deer meat. In my opinion, it’s just not chili without the beans. lol! I like Brooks Chili Beans the best, but you can substitute any meat, beans, peppers, or tomatoes that you have on hand.

S’mores Charcuterie Board from letsliveandlearn
We tend to just turn everyone loose with a card table full of supplies for s’mores. However, if you want to class it up a bit, this is an excellent way to do so. Plus, there are even more ideas for what you can use to make your s’mores. I think I’ve fancied it up when I use Reese’s mini peanut butter cups. But that’s just me. What do you use to make this fall fire pit treat?
