The battle intensified. The witch's minions—a mix of twisted abominations and resurrected corpses—swarmed the clearing. Galen led the paladins in a valiant charge, striking down skeletal warriors only for them to rise again. Ordi and the mages unleashed torrents of arcane energy, incinerating the dark creatures. Despite their best efforts, the witch's power seemed endless. She began summoning more skeletons to add to the chaos of the battle.

Mira charged in, pounding and ripping bones apart. The skeletons reformed effortlessly, keeping her busy.

The skeletons pressed in, their bony fingers scraping and clawing, as Ordi and Mira fought back to back, the sounds of battle filling the clearing. Ordi summoned bolts of arcane magic that pierced through the skeletal frames, incinerating them to ash, but it was a fleeting victory. The skeletons reformed with unnatural speed, their rattling bones an unsettling soundtrack to the ongoing fight.

As the author of Chronicles of Ordi, my days are a whirlwind of real-life demands and stolen moments of creativity. Mapping Asheros’ terrains, fleshing out Ordi’s quests, and balancing the Brotherhood’s arcs isn’t a full-time gig for me — it’s a passionate hobby that fits around family, health, and meaningful work.

I start early, around 6 AM. First priority: a workout — lifting weights and cardio. It’s my non-negotiable ritual, much like Ordi’s steadfast resolve, helping me face the day clear-headed.

By 8 AM, I’m on the road, traveling for hospice care. This part of my life is profoundly grounding. I spend hours supporting patients and families, and during those long drives, story ideas bubble up. Hospice reminds me of life’s fragility, influencing themes in my writing, like the Gems’ hopeful radiance against darkness.

Afternoons belong to family — homework, cooking, or just talking. Writing sneaks in here and there: 15 minutes outlining Nimue’s lore, or typing a scene in the quiet evening. My family cheers me on, but they know writing bows to real-life needs.

On good days, I squeeze in 500–1,000 words. On hectic ones, it’s only mental notes. That balance keeps me grounded, ensuring Chronicles of Ordi draws from authentic experience. It’s not glamorous, but it’s real — and that’s what fuels the magic in Asheros.
