A languid Lord Devin is astonished when a petite virago called Wilhelmina accuses him of selling an unfit horse to a drayman. He isn't aware of the irregularities in his stables.
Later, she foists a stray, starving kitten called Horace on him. But Hermione, his betrothed, hates cats. And Horace hates her.
Where will it all end? Will Horace have to go? Will Wilhelmina be able to save the ill-treated horses in London? Will everyone end up with the right partner?
This charming Regency story, set against the first Animal Rights Act of 1822, will warm your heart and make you smile.
And Horace... well, you'll want to take him home.

My thoughts on The Lord and the Cat’s Meow by GL Robinson
G.L. Robinson has done it again. She writes the most delightful Regency romance novels. This book is part of “The Lord and” series. They do not need to be read in order.
To my way of thinking, Horace is the true star of this story. From the time Nina saves him from being drowned, he manipulates all the other characters into either doing his will or showing their true colors. He is brilliant!
Nina is a character we can all root for as she goes about her life trying to better the life and treatment of animals. She is a breath of fresh air to all who come in contact with her. Unless, of course, you are one of those who mistreat horses or cats.
Elliot is a Lord who just can’t be stirred to care about much of anything in his life until he meets Nina and Horace. Suddenly, his life is full of purpose, and he even becomes punctual, which is a trait he was sorely missing.
Along the way, we are entertained by the Colonel, Hermione, Dick Topper, and a multitude of players to cheer for or hiss at for their despicable behavior.
I found this book very entertaining and recommend it to all lovers of historical fiction and Regency romance novels. I’ll be anxiously awaiting the next book from this author.
I received a review copy of the book. This is my honest, unbiased opinion.
The cat on the cover is a perfect depiction of Horace, but you won’t know that until you read the book. I would like to see a brighter, more eye-catching cover for the book.
