My thoughts on The Ocean Raiders by Jackson Coppley:

Today is release day for The Ocean Raiders, the next Nicholas Foxe adventure from Jackson Coppley. I reviewed the first adventure, The Code Hunters, yesterday. You can read my review here. I am rapidly becoming quite a fan of Jackson Coppley’s writings. His stories are fast-paced and descriptive. I love traveling to foreign locales with Nicholas and his team.

The Ocean Raiders is the second Nicholas Foxe adventure story I’ve read, and I’m pleased to say it’s better than the first one! Author Jackson Coppley manages to keep the action and adventure going from page one to the finish.

The pacing is electric. The characters from the first adventure continue their quest to solve the mysteries of the items they’ve uncovered. The original code hunters are all present in this book. I especially love the female characters in The Ocean Raiders. They are smart, brave, and sassy. Lizzy is quite a brilliant charmer, showing she doesn’t need an advanced degree to hold her own against the brains in this book. The new characters are many and diverse. Although some are not destined to survive this story, I hope to see several continue in the series.

The settings are once again lushly described. I’ve never been to Venice, but I can envision it perfectly from Coppley’s words. The old-world charm of Italy combines with the futuristic mysteries to leave you hungering to visit while there is still a chance to see it as it is meant to be.

The Ocean Raiders is a perfect blend of science fiction with history and personal relationships creating an excellent book for lovers of nearly all genres.

I will anxiously await the next Nicholas Foxe adventure.

About Jackson Coppley

Jackson Coppley, author bio image

Jackson Coppley, a consummate storyteller, illuminates in his writing what happens when technology intersects with human behavior and emotion.

Coppley weaves his stories from a sophisticated knowledge of computer technology and an understanding of human behavior.

Coppley's resume includes a dynamic career with leading world communications and technology companies, and the launching of what the press called "a revolutionary software program" during the rise of personal computing.

As a world traveler, Coppley has developed an interest in and an understanding of cultural differences and nuances which play an important role in his stories. His YouTube video on the Hmong people of Vietnam, as an example of how he investigates other cultures, received thousands of hits. It is this sensitivity about human behavior combined with the understanding of the potential of technology that brings to his writing a glimpse of what is yet to come.

Coppley was born in Lexington, North Carolina. A smart kid who majored in Physics at N.C. State. Eager to be in an urban environment, Coppley moved to Washington, DC where he pursued a technology career. Coppley now turns his love of storytelling into writing novels.
