The Book Bloggers’ Novel of the Year Award (BBNYA) celebrates the books that made it to the semi-finals with a mini spotlight blitz tour for each title.

BBNYA is a yearly competition where book bloggers worldwide read and score books written by indie authors, ending with 16 finalists and one overall winner.

If you want more information about BBNYA, check out the BBNYA website https://www.bbnya.com/ or peek at Twitter @BBNYA_Official. BBNYA is brought to you in association with the @Foliosociety (if you love beautiful books, you NEED to check out their website!) and the book blogger support group @The_WriteReads.

Today is Day 48 of my 2024 BBNYA Semi-Finalist Blitz. From October 7 through December 4, I’ll feature one semi-finalist daily. I hope you will join the panelists in celebrating the books, authors, and illustrators that reached this epic milestone.

Shelly
A highway in El Salvador, 2019 What do I tell my kids about this situation? I’m going to lie.“Hi, honey. It’s Mom,” I said as casually as I could to not let on that I had been kidnapped by an old lover, taken to a third world country on the brink of a civil war, and headed to a book club meeting at the home of a notorious arms dealer with an oil heiress. Armed guards in the front seat and four more bodyguards drove in front and behind us, completing the triplet SUV convoy along some highway in El Salvador. Yeah, Central America. I’d never even been to Mexico and that was only eighty miles from my house.

Ah! Mexico! That was plausible.“ So, I’m taking a long weekend at a resort in Mexico. Aren’t you proud of me? Anyway, the cell service is really bad so if you need to get a hold of me just email. Love you.” I hung up. Voicemail complete. This kidnapping has wrecked my schedule.

About Cindy Kehagiaras

Cindy Kehagiaras author profile image

Cindy Kehagiaras

My writing journey began after my 50th birthday, and the pandemic lockdown allowed me to write. Some of my stories have haunted my dreams for decades. When the characters shouted day and night, I knew I had to write about them. These days I love to read and write stories about second chances with GenX characters in over 40, later in life, and mature steamy romances.

My previous lives have been in advertising, fashion, and small business owner. I've made it my life’s ambition to push through the challenges of dyslexia to consume novels, poetry, and articles and tell my stories.

A proud native Californian, I live in Hermosa Beach, CA, with my husband of 17 years, two beautiful kids, and two spunky rescue kitties.

Please find me on all social media platforms.
