HAVEN'T YOU WONDERED?
Undercover, on skid row . . .
Owen Brophy, summoned by a street psychic, is alarmed when she knows his real name—and unnerved by her obstinate "Who did you abandon back home?" Home. The Okanagan Valley. Owen hasn't been there since he was a kid. Hasn't seen his oldest friend—a guy he once loved like a brother, a man he's long been estranged from—in years. Yet the psychic forecasts an ominous past will crash against present when his old buddy exhumes a long-concealed secret—a secret more than one person has died for. A secret someone will kill to keep hidden.OR MAYBE YOU KNOW
Unannounced, at her door . . .
A grisly package arrives for Natalya Nikoslav, its cryptic verse clearly written by someone who knows her history something she, abandoned as a toddler, has never been able to unearth on her own. Shaken, Natalya scours her psychic shadows to see where this package has come from. She's shocked by what she her tombstone. Its death date waxes and wanes alongside an enigmatic spectre, a man she almost—almost!—recognizes, begging for her help. A retrocognitive, Natalya knows her psychic shadows are limited to the past . . . yet this man is unmistakably calling out from her future. And he's frantic—they'll both die if she doesn't come home.
But . . . where is home? Who is he?
And when she finds him will she know . . .WHERE DID ALL THE CHILDREN GO?

Excerpt from The Shadow Collector: Natalya & Owen
Echo Creek, Alberta
A scarlet scream of paint raced up the side of her house:
EXODUS 22:18
The spray of letters, large, uneven, somehow made the grim Scripture even more sinister. Shuddering, Natalya crunched, footsteps erupting, brittle little bursts upon a lawn still dead and shocked from having lost its recent shelter of snow. The garden shed in her back yard was filled with solvents she, unlike most people, had formed a chemist’s knowledge of. Gasoline, for example, best dissolved black paint, making it disappear with a few swipes of a rag. Red paint, though…? “Turpentine,” she muttered, and grabbed the canister, the rag on top still pungent from a few weeks before. Sopping it, she returned to the front of her house.
A Shadow flared, her ability to see the past as she swiped over Exodus. Yet despite how she concentrated, the visage offered little in the way of what her vandal had looked like. Instead, it was more what they’d felt. Entitled. Gleeful.
Hateful.
This last shot adrenaline through her limbs. Hatred was something you didn’t—and likely shouldn’t—become desensitized to.
Not if you wanted to survive.
Whispering, she prayed. “Hide me in the shadow of Your wings from the mortal enemies who surround me, God.”
God. Her mouth folded up as she regarded Exodus Twenty-Two and Eighteen. “Yet if I really was a sorceress, couldn’t I just magic all this off my house?” She wiggled theatrical fingers at the red spray of numbers and letters.
