My thoughts on Under the Warrior’s Protection by Ella Matthews
Under the Warrior’s Protection is the first book I read by Ella Matthews. It won’t be the last!
I was captivated by the characters from the opening pages. They are well-developed and seem believable in their roles.
There was a bit of concern since this is book two in the House of Leofric series, and I have not read book one. This story works fabulously as a stand-alone. Not once did I feel like I was missing information.
I love a good ”enemies to friends” trope. Katherine and Jarin excel in their roles. Their exasperation with each other, the sarcasm, and eventually their love are perfectly written.
Other characters in this book play their roles well, adding mystery, details, and plot twists to make the book a “read all night” winner.
I will definitely pick up book one in the series and will be waiting impatiently for book three. There is a book three, right?
