Welcome to the 03-29-2024 edition of the weekly Friday Finds.
Life sort of got in the way of writing this week, and now I have company for the weekend. This is my only explanation for why today’s post is published later and a little abbreviated. lol
Do your days often go astray? It seems every morning when I wake up, I have such great enthusiasm for my day. Unfortunately, most days, things are upended by noon!
Until next week, Peace & Love to you!
Happy Easter, Happy Weekend, Happy Life!

If you try this one, be sure to read the comments under the recipe. People are so creative in what they add to it. So many things were mentioned, from asparagus to crushed potato chips, changing the soup, meat, or cheeses. It’s perhaps one of the most versatile (and fast) recipes I’ve seen.

Weekly Friday Finds | 03-29-2024 | Creative News
Last week’s Friday Finds featured some random Spring projects, so this week I decided to share a bit of creative news in my life.
My daughter bought me a ticket to the Milwaukee Brewers Stitch & Pitch event for Mother’s Day. Since we will be going with a large group, Cream City Yarns offered a special kit for everyone to purchase before the event. I was just notified that my kit has shipped and should be here early next week. We’ll all be sporting hats knit in a custom-dyed colorway by Emma’s Yarns. I can’t wait to see the yarn. Here’s a peek at the pattern.

This week’s trivia question is:
In the craft of embroidery, what term refers to the technique of using small, tightly packed stitches to create intricate designs on fabric?
The answer to last week’s question:
Cheesecake is believed to have been served at the first what? OLYMPIC GAMES!
“The earliest known cheesecake was made in ancient Greece on the island of Samos in the fifth century BC. It was made from fresh cheese patties pounded smooth with flour and honey, then baked on an earthenware griddle. Cheesecake was a source of energy and was served to athletes during the first Olympic Games in 776 BC. It was also popular as a wedding dessert.” Answer from Jonathan Lord Cheesecake.

[…] Last week’s Friday Finds featured my plans to knit a hat for our Mother-Daughter baseball outing. I received the custom-dyed yarn this week but have not started on the project yet, which is pretty typical for me. […]
Hi Gina!
Glad to look at this issue of Friday Finds. I like the ham and cheese strata and the bubble pods sewing pattern. Look really great.
Hey Chika, so happy to hear from you. Glad you found things you liked!
Hi Gina, thanks for sharing your recipe and suggesting to click on the others comments. I learned something new doing that. I had no idea they made “Cream of Asparagus Soup.” I’m excited to get that. 🙂
We make a ham gravy with “Cream of Celery Soup,” poured over cheddar cheese biscuits. It’s so good. I’ll send you the recipe if you’d like.
Have a wonderful holiday.
~Rosie
I would love to have that recipe. Happy Easter to you too, Rosie! 🐣
Thank you, we had a wonderful day.
I sent the Ham and Gravy with Cheesy Biscuit recipe to your email.
Enjoy!

Gina – I know very little about embroidery but my grandmother, even in her late 80s, used to do tatting which is a tiny embellishing stitch on collar, sleeve & pillow edges. Probably the wrong answer, but brought a smile to my face just thinking about her this morning! Have a wonderful Easter weekend! ~ mim
Glad it brought up a goid memory for you this morning. Happy Easter 🐣
Is it satin stitch? Anyway, good luck with the barn! You sound busy! Happy Easter too!
It is. You are so good at trivia. Happy Easter to you, Eve! 🐣
I didn’t find James outrageously funny in the least. Obviously the writer of the blurb didn’t read the book!
I think that’s why it caught my eye…I read your review. I guess some people have a strange sense of humor.
Oops..quoted it wrong…that should read ***ferociously funny***
Have a great weekend and a very Happy Easter! I think the answer to this week’s trivia is intricate embroidery with satin stitch.
Thanks for playing trivia with us this weekend. Happy Easter 🐣 to you too, Jessica!
