Weekly Friday Finds | 05-17-2024 | Books ~Author News ~ Recipes ~ Crafts ~ New Trivia Question
Hello and welcome to the 05-17-2024 edition of the weekly Friday Finds.
I hope you have had a wonderful week and are ready for a relaxing weekend. Let’s see if I found anything to help you enjoy the next week more. I think today’s post offers a lot of inspiration.
I’m still busy cleaning for the summer gatherings. My theme is to work smarter, not harder. I found this nifty little cordless spin scrubber that is definitely making my chores easier. I’ve used it to scrub & polish floors, corners, tubs, cabinets, etc. I have 45 cabinet doors in my kitchen! I had to count twice. Why am I always out of room to store stuff? Anyway, I cleaned and polished them all with Pledge Wood Revitalizing Oil in just one morning!
I’m frantically reviewing the list of books for the 2024 Book Blogger’s Novel of the Year award. I think we ended up with about 250 books from Indie Authors. I need to read blurbs, check content considerations, and turn in my form with what I “want to read, am willing to read, have already reviewed, and do not want to read” by this weekend! The excitement is really building amongst the panelists. We can’t wait to get our first excerpts! I hope you’ll follow the journey on here with me. You can also search #BBNYA2024 on your favorite social media site.
Okay, it’s time to get cracking. There is so much to do and so little time, but I love my life!!
Until next week,
Peace & Love to you!
Gina

This is my latest scoop from Indie Authors.
From Gary Kirchner: I have recently published a trilogy titled In the Shadow of the Goalposts.
The story is the study of a football coach who has tragically lost two sons, is beset with marriage difficulties, and who naively tries to make sense of his world through the medium of his sport.
Arne Viimets, who was fired ten years previously, takes over as head coach of a struggling Canadian university team. He is convinced that he can bring it to the pinnacle of college sports – the national championship – and, at the same time, instill character and toughness into players weakened by the insipid and unguided principles of modern society. He is in for a few surprises.
In bringing the reader into the locker room, into the coaches’ room, onto the practice field, along the sidelines, and onto the game field, In the Shadow of the Goalposts gives a realistic behind-the-curtain view of college football.
The three books are available online through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Kobo. I will post reviews for all three sometime soon. I just bought all three in an Amazon Bundle!

[…] Last week’s Friday Finds featured rag wreaths. I was a little stumped about what craft to choose this week. I’ve not been getting much feedback from you on the crafts lately, so give me a shout in the comments about your favorite crafting addiction hobby; it’s just a hobby! […]
Wow, you sure picked a hard trivia question for this week! There are so many different answers out there. I found that potatoes are the number 1 vegetable crop in the world and it seems like beans are the most popular for gardens. I would have thought it was tomatoes and one article I found agree with me, while others don’t. So that’s a tough question!
