Introduction

Life as a young adult can be exciting. We seem braver and are willing to explore life, love, friendship, and our sexuality. Ally is no exception. Journey through Ally’s life as she goes through trials and tribulations, love and happiness, fear and devastation. Just when life for Ally seems to be just about perfect, one phone call changes everything.

Ally, I have your next date planned!” Cassie exclaims.

Oh really? Shouldn’t you be working instead of looking up people for me to date?” I look up expecting Cassie to roll her eyes.

For your information, I am working.” She sticks her tongue out at me. “This is someone I know. Although I still strongly believe you need to join a dating site. You and Brent broke up months ago! He moved on before the breakup, so what are you waiting for?”

Um, if you recall I did go on a few dates. I just haven’t met anyone I click with yet. What does it matter if I’m single? I’m twenty-five, what’s the rush?”

There’s no rush, but why would you want to be single? Don’t you at least miss the sex? The passion? The lust? Come on, Ally, I know you. You have to be dying to get into bed with someone by now.”

What the hell, Cassie? I’m not a sex addict. Honestly, is that what you think of me?” I am getting a little irritated with Cassie. She always has an opinion about my love life. Nevertheless, I love Cassie. We have been working together as interior designers for four years now. Fresh out of college we started our own business and love it. We make our own hours and get to work with some of the wealthiest people in our area. Well, who else hires interior designers, right?

My thoughts on Willow’s Ridge

Touching, Heartbreaking, Uplifting. There are so many words to describe this book.

The story opens as a fairly typical romance novel. The girl has a bad breakup, gives up on dating, meets Mr. Too Perfect, begins to live a fairytale life.

Just when things are moving along smoothly, BOOM, tragedy strikes. This event changes the trajectory of the book immensely. The book becomes a suspenseful tale of family devastation, whodunnit, and reflections on family life from this moment forward.

There are characters to love and some to hate. But, you are never left unfeeling.

Willow’s Ridge had me in tears of joy and sorrow. The author does a superb job of moving the reader exactly where she wants their mind to go.

At times the story was harrowing for me to read because it touches on quite a few of every parent’s nightmares. Yet, I could not put it down. I had to know what would happen next.

I recommend Willow’s Ridge to fans of romance, tragedy, mystery, and family dynamics. It’s a very quick read. If you do read it, come back here to discuss it. I would love to know your thoughts.

Gisele L. Grieves is a new author to me. I saw some really good books of hers on Goodreads that I’ll be reading soon. They are on my TBR list.
