My thoughts on Won’t Somebody Play With Annabelle Kay?

Oh, how my heart broke for Annabelle Kay! This sweet little girl did not deserve the treatment she received from the kids in her new town.

I read this book with my youngest two grandsons. The boys were captivated by the colorful illustrations. The colors are so vibrant, and they nearly jump off the page.

Personally, I was captivated by the wonderful message of kindness. Kids are bombarded with so much negativity every day, and it’s helpful to reinforce the positives. Annabelle Kay’s story is perfect for the job.

The book touches on loneliness, fitting in, and finding new friends. Two little birds show Annabelle Kay how to be positive and put her best foot forward. When she decides to be herself and let her uniqueness shine, it changes her whole world.

Written in rhyme, the words are easy to read and flow well. The pace is appropriate for the intended age group. However, let me stress, I believe all ages will enjoy the tale and learn a lesson or two along the way.

This delightful children’s book has earned a 5-star rating from me. It’s well-written, timeless, and extremely giftable.

I received this book from the author or publisher to review. This is my honest, unbiased opinion.
