Word Of the Year for 2019. 2019! How is that even possible? Didn’t we recently say that about 2018?

Do you choose a word of the year, or maybe an intention or even a resolution for the New Year?

Back in the day, everyone made resolutions, and I never lasted over a month at that.

This year I am trying the word of the year option. This word could encompass intentions or a resolution, but for now, I am merely picking a word that will help me be a better me this year. I have so many goals I want to reach during 2019 that choosing one word is hard, really hard. So I need a word that isn’t too limiting yet pushes me to improve.

Let’s take a look at some word of the year ideas I have had so far. Many words have multiple meanings, but for this experiment, I am choosing the definition most suited to my use. (writer’s prerogative)

After all this searching for words and definitions, I have selected my word

My 2019 Word of the Year!

Permission – consent; authorization

Permission to do all the above, to succeed or fail,  to take risk or back away,  to say NO or YES, whichever best serves me.

Most of all, it permits me to be the best me possible. I believe the word PERMISSION encompasses everything I wish for the year 2019.

If you add the word permission to any one of the above words, you will find a phrase to help you improve yourself.

What do you think? Will one of these words suit you for the new year?

I think it’s important to note here that the new year can begin at any time. It doesn’t have to fall on January 1. Your day to start turning your life around to make it better serve you is the day you are ready!
