Your Friday Finds Roundup | May 7, 2021
Hello and welcome!
I’m so happy to have you here this week. It’s spring in the midwest which means beautiful days, rainy days, and up and down temperatures. The pool is open to start catching rainwater, there has been a bit of gardening happening. The strawberries, blackberries, and fruit trees are blooming, barn kittens are showing up, it’s definitely Spring on the farm!
Last week’s comment drawing was won by Julia G. You can find her this week as the Featured Author in my BookShop. This week’s Blogger of the Week is Ellie from “Read to Ramble“. You’ll find her on the sidebar of the website for the next week or so.
Now let’s get on with the good stuff!
Your Friday Finds Roundup | May 7, 2021 | Books
Naturally, I’ve been reading quite a bit. My online book club is tackling War & Peace next. Due to the extreme length, we’ll be taking two months to read & discuss it. Thank goodness!!
War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy

Shumi the Dwarf Hamster by Denisa Rosca
Even the smallest can become anything they choose in this fun-tastical fable about following your dreams.
An unfortunate turn of events places Shumi in the heart of Purple City. Here, our hero encounters a cast of unforgettable characters and faces great obstacles in his quest to see his dreams come true.

A newsletter subscriber sent me a bit of exciting news. Geary Reid is now offering his diverse books through Amazon. He writes about everything from mothers & fathers to organization & gardening. Please take a peek at his works.
The Importance of Motherhood by Geary Reid
In honor of Mother’s Day here in the USA, I thought this was an appropriate book to feature.
In case you missed it on the blog this week!

I’m a slow knitter these days. If I start this sweater now, I might have it done by the time fall weather arrives. If you are a fast knitter, you could have it for cool spring nights. I love the style of the pattern, although I would have to make it a lot longer. Cropped tops don’t fit my Nana style. lol

Popsicle Stick projects are such a fun way to create with kids or even for adults. Why not grab a bag of these and create some fun picture frames, coasters, or this oh-so-cute pencil holder. Doing a little DIY creating, no matter how small the project, is relaxing and good for the soul.

Ooh, War and Peace–you’re going big! I have thought about attempting it, but never have. 🙂
Hopping over to print the grasshopper mini pies. They remind me of summer. And hello neighbor. I am also from the Midwest.
Maybe next time your book club can pick something not so breezy. Ha! I’m impressed. Visiting you from the inspire me Monday link up.
Loving your newsletters Gina. 🙂 I wanna say that my favorite part is the books but I also really love crafting. It’s what I’m most excited to see when I read your newsletter. I used to make crafts out of popsicle sticks.
War and Peace! That’s an ambitious under taking!
Those grasshopper pies look interesting!
Happy Friday! Those pencil holders and toppers are so cute! I love crafts!
Wish I could knit! Lovely sweater and great collection of books! Tweeted!
