Friday Finds for 10 June 2022 | I want to do it ALL this week! (The books, the food, the crafts!)
Hello, my friends & welcome to the Friday Finds for 10 June 2022!
I’m hoping for a bit of rain on the garden today before we go into a week-long hot spell with predicted temps near 100 degrees F everyday (near 38C)! That seems a lot like August weather to me…not June. But luckily I have A/C in the house & a pool in the backyard. I’ll be fine. Enforced relaxing & reading time!!
I didn’t realize when I mentioned last week that I was going to a “Fiber” festival, it would create so much confusion. Some readers thought it was a health or supplement fair. I guess that’s an easy mistake. I have lived in my fiber world for so long, that I forget about other meanings. I visited a festival a couple hours away last Friday, where there were sheep being sheared, beautiful Angora rabbits to pet, heavenly hand-dyed yarns (my kind of fiber!), and rovings, along with every type of weaving loom, spinning wheel, books, and accessories a crafty person might need. It was wonderful to be back in the craft world again with like-minded people!
What have you missed the most during the chaotic last couple of years? What’s new with you this week? Drop by in the comments below and let me know your answers. Don’t forget to vote in the poll at the bottom of the page!

The Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand
“The queen of beach reads” (New York Magazine) delivers an immensely satisfying page-turner in this tale about a summer of scandal at a storied Nantucket hotel.
The Stories of My Life by James Patterson
James Patterson by James Patterson is the most anticipated memoir of 2022.
Noodle and the No Bones Day by Jonathon Graziano
From the creator of the viral “Bones or No Bones” TikTok videos comes a sweet and entertaining picture book following Noodle the pug and his human as they navigate Noodle’s first No Bones Day—a day for being kind to yourself!

Friday Finds | 10 June 2022 | Recipes
Farmers Market Skillet from Served Up With Love
Chives, Radish, & Cucumber Salad by Valya’s Taste of Home
No-Bake Berry Dessert Lush by Crazy for Crust
I told myself that I could not start another project until I finished the cardigan for my grandson. Now that it’s done, I have a severe case of startitis. I want to weave everything! First I think I am going to warp my 32 inch Ashford Loom with a yellow and white buffalo check baby blanket for my new great-neice.
I also want to get myself the promised set of hexagon pin looms from Texas Gabi, but they are currently sold out. I expect them to be back in stock very soon. I keep checking every day so I don’t miss my chance again. I can get one from The Woolery, but I would like to buy from the original creator, if possible. The jewel loom is available and the possibilities are endless for what I can create with it
And I feel the urge to make another massive bunch of bookmarks and coasters with my pin looms.
Do you see what I mean…I want to make it all!
Do you get crazy creative urges? What is on your needles, hook, or loom right now?

I didn’t see your first mention of fiber, but one of my blog friends loves to weave and spin and knit, even spinning wool in festivals and craft fairs. Plus my husband worked in the fibers industry for many years. So I would have know just what you were talking about. 🙂 I used to love to embroider and cross stitch, but it’s getting hard for me to see. I spend most of my craft time making cards for family these days.
The fiber festival sounds fun. I’m not a knitter or crocheter but I love the products of those who are.
I look forward to seeing what you create in the coming weeks.

Gina, I love your finds this week. I sure do see you want to do it all. Loved the recipes you shared.
Thank you so much, Gina! I’ve been so busy this week because we had a huge community yard sale today and my dad and sister were here. I’m glad the yard sale is over! It was a lot of work and exhausting!
That’s a tough question about what makes me open emails. Most of the time it is the subject line and many times I like subject lines where I know I’ll learn something new that I can apply to my business.
Have a great week and thank you so much for sharing my group news and for the BookShop feature! I’m very thankful for your support!
Another beautiful post! Glad you got your fiber-fill at the festival. Sounds like an amazing event. I like that cucumber and radish salad. I make baskets with yarn scraps!
Thanks, Eve. I love your comments! I’m intrigued by this making baskets from yarn scraps. Tell me more, please.
Oh the berry cheesecake looks good. I want to read Dream Town. Have read the first two books. Another book I want to read is “the citation brigde” by Glen Cransey. Knitting an Afghan and baby hats for donation. Stay cool and have a blessed day.
Thanks. Diane. So happy to have you here. We put screens on our skylights this morning. Getting ready for the big heat wave that’s coming!
