My thoughts on 365 Days of Gutsy Women
This phenomenal devotional is not just for women and girls, although I think they will get so much from it. Men and boys should read this too. Everyone will benefit from learning about these incredible women.
The book is set up with a woman per page (day). These daily readings will encourage more research into all of the incredible women featured in the devotional. And best of all…sources are included at the end of the book, making it so simple to learn more about these “hidden figures.”
You can start this journal anytime you want. since it’s broken down by Day and Week, such as Monday, Week 1, or Wednesday, Week 36.
I recommend getting the paperback to keep on your bedside table or breakfast table. The physical copy will help remind you to read a page every day. Sometimes it’s easy to forget about a devotional if it isn’t front and center.
I can’t list all of the people included, but I can give you a peek at the diversity of those represented. I will flip randomly through the book and give you a sampling.
- Anna Pavlova – Prima Ballerina
- Barbara McClintock – American Scientist and Cytogeneticist
- Carrie Chapman Catt – American Leader of Suffrage
- Blodeuwedd – Welsh Goddess of Spring and Flowers
- Florence Beatrice Price – African-American classical composer
- Irena Sendler – Polish Humanitarian
- Queen Ndate Yalla – Last Great Queen of the Waalo Kingdom in Senegal
I could go on and on. You’ll learn about artists, activists, authors, singers, educators, and scientists, just to name a few.
I was surprised by how quickly this book grabbed me. Naturally, since this is a review, I couldn’t take a year to read it. But I can promise, it will take actual dedication not to keep reading about one fascinating woman after the next.
365 Days of Gutsy Women gets my highest recommendation to all readers, old and young, male and female; everyone should read this one!
I received a copy of the book from the author or publisher for possible review. This review is my honest, unbiased opinion.
