My Thoughts on Inheriting Her Ghosts

S.H. Cooper’s Victorian Gothic Horror novel, “Inheriting Her Ghosts,” tells the story of Eudora Fellowes, who inherits her great-aunt’s seaside manor, High Hearth. Eudora hopes the inheritance will offer her a peaceful escape, but instead, she discovers a legacy of darkness that has been shrouded in secrecy for over half a century. As Eudora tries to unravel the mysteries of High Hearth, she realizes that she is not alone in the manor. Will she and her dogs, Cerberus and Black Shuck, survive long enough to solve this family mystery?

The novel’s well-written characters and intriguing setting slowly reveal the history of High Hearth, creating a sense of trepidation, suspense, terror, and mystery. The sinister twists and turns in the plot keep the reader engaged and on edge. One notable aspect of the story is the absence of romantic threads, which allows the reader to focus entirely on the sublime tale of Eudora’s inheritance and the ghosts that haunt High Hearth.
