It’s Halloween time in the land of Harmony, and the Bobos Babes are ready for some fun

When Angel Scarlett, Fairy Cora, and Princess Daphne visit Lily the Ladybug’s Boutique to look for Halloween costumes, they find Lily has left aside three special masks for them. The ladybug informs the sisters that they must wait until noon on Halloween to try on the mysterious masks but assures them they will have the best costumes in all of the land of Harmony.

The sisters can hardly wait, counting down the minutes on Halloween until they can don their curious masks. When the time comes, they learn their secret masks are enchanted, and the girls are magically transformed into the costumes of their dreams.

After a fun outing Trick-or-Treating, the little monster, witch, and ghost — or sisters — agree that this was the best Halloween of all.

My thoughts on A Magical Halloween

Karen M Bobos has done it again. A Magical Halloween is a delightful, fun visit with the Bobos trio for a little Halloween magic.

Beautiful Lily the Ladybug and her brother Gavin the Grasshopper run a boutique. They have put aside special masks for Fairy Cora, Angel Scarlett, and Princess Daphne. The only stipulation is that they can not open the packages until noon on Halloween.

The temptation is great, but the trio holds on until the proper time. What a surprise the girls get. These are the most authentic, fabulous Halloween costumes ever. The Bobos Babes have a wonderful time celebrating Halloween with all their Harmony neighbors.

Jazinel Libranda illustrated A Magical Halloween, and she adds so much depth to this tale.

Pick up a copy of this fabulous, non-scary Halloween book. It is listed for ages 3 – 10, but I really think all ages will enjoy it.

About Karen M Bobos

Karen M Bobos began writing poetry and stories at the early age of ten. She is a life-long Chicagoan who now raises her family in the downtown area.

During the 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic, Chicago also became a city of unrest. Trying to keep her three young daughters in a world of magic during such scary times, the Bobos Babes Adventures was born. My Most Magical Halloween

Although Halloween has always been a fun and celebrated holiday my entire life, nothing beats the Halloween of 2009. I was a bridesmaid in my cousin’s wedding who was getting married on Halloween. She and her fiancé were definitely more eccentric than most people I knew; they both were adorned with tattoos and piercings. Her wedding dress had red lace through it, although different, it was a beautiful dress.

My now husband was roommates in college with her fiancé. When he found out his ol’ roommate was getting married on Halloween, he knew it was going to be an event that he didn’t want to miss and that he wanted to be a part of it. He asked his friend if they had ushers for the wedding, which he did not. My now-husband said, “you do now” and gathered three others of their friends to be ushers. What he assumed would be this fun and crazy wedding exceeded his expectations. Never did my husband expect to meet . . . me.

After the wedding, we all piled into the limo and were off to take pictures. I was wearing a black and white bridesmaid’s dress . . . with a black spider necklace, not that that detail was important but definitely worthy of sharing. My husband was wearing a black and red zoot suit – think 1940’s. He was holding a bottle of champagne and asked if I wanted a glass. Shortly after jamming to Bon Jovi’s Living on a Prayer, we locked eyes. It was one of those long-eye holds where neither wanted to look away.

During the limo ride, another bridesmaid and I challenged him and another usher to a “dance-off” at the reception. Once at the reception, now in costumes, the bridal party hit the dancefloor. Within moments, someone grabbed my hand and twirled me, and dipped me. Little did I know how good of a dancer all of these men were. We danced all night.

Two days later, my husband and I had our first date. Two weeks later, he asked for my hand in marriage. Fourteen months later, we were married on New Years’ Day. It was 1-1-11 because he was the one. Here we are about to celebrate 11 years of marriage. Needless to say, that was my most magical Halloween.
